Council Minutes of 12/6/94 <br />b. Ordinance 94-71, which authorizes the purchase of five Police cnusers and one <br />detective car through the HoteUMotel Tax Fund. The vehicles will be purchased through. <br />the State of Ohio's biddiag program, which will save the city money. The detective car <br />will be converted to a cruiser after the mileage exceeds 12,000 miges. The replacement <br />program calls for replacing one-third of the fleet year each. The committee recorded <br />approval of the legislation. <br />a Ordinance 94-173, which amends Ordinance 94-15 to correct the title of the Sanitary <br />Sewer System Supervisor and to provide for a new salary range. The committee <br />recommended approval <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairperson of the Building, Zoning and Development Committee, <br />reported: 1) The committee met on December S, and in attendance were commhtee <br />members McKay, Nashar, Saringer; Councilman Lin~ert; Building Commissioner <br />Conway; Assistant Engineer McDermott. Agenda items were as follows: <br />a. A communication from the B ' Commissioner concerning a reque~ from Wal- <br />Mart and Biskind Development Company for a change in the brick to be used on the store. <br />This request will go the Architectural Revi€aw Board and the residents in the area will be <br />notified. No action was taken by the BZD Committee. <br />b. Acceptance of storm sewer easeun~ts located on Barton Road south of Lorain Road. <br />These are needed to complete a drainage project on south Barton Road. The committee <br />had no objections, and legislation has been reque~ed to be placed on the agenda for the <br />special Council meeting of December 12. <br />c. Sycle Works, 29601 Lorain Road, request for a conditional use permit to repair <br />motorcycles inside the building. The owner, Mr. Clemens, was in attendance. The <br />proposal was approved by the Plannhg Commission on October 25. The committee had <br />no objections but did recommend that the conditional use permit be issued for one year <br />only at which time the owners will have to apply for a renewal. Mrs. Saringer moved to <br />approve the conditional use permh for Sycle Works, 29601 Lorain Road, for one year <br />only with the provision that the owner must reapply for a renewal; second by Mr. Nashar; <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />d. Ordinance 94-95, which authorizes a new and resided Chapter 1138 of the North <br />Olmsted Zoning Code entitled "Senior Residence District." This was approved by the <br />Planning Commission which made several suggestions that were con~dered by the BZD <br />Committee. The ordinance is on second reading as amended. <br />AUDIENCE PAR~;ATIQN <br />Jerry Schillace, 4793 Grace Road, a retired senior citizeai, asked that Council consider a <br />snow removal program for senior citizens. If this is not possible, he would be willing to <br />pay a nominal fee for the service if the city could recommend someone. Fre~dent <br />Boehmer suggested that Mr. Schillace contact the Human Resources Department which <br />handles such requests. Mayor Boyle said that the Human Resources Department o$en has <br />lists of high school or college studems who are wild' g to do snow removal.
