Council Minutes of 11/15/94 <br />a~ c. Ashton Norris Company, 31469 Lorain Road, a proposal to install a driveway, parking <br />spaces, landscaping and relocation of a dumpster. John Arnold, owner of the build~g, <br />presented the plans for the burg which wdl house an accounting ' ess and a direct <br />marketing and packaging t>us~ess. The plans were approved by ' ' g C on <br />October 11 and by the Aredural Review Board on October 19. The Board of Zoning <br />Appeals has granted the necessary variances,. Other than a request that the owner not <br />leave empty paIlets in the front of the ,the committee had no objections. Mrs. <br />Saringer moved to approve the AshtoB Norris Company plus with the <br />recommendations of Plann~g Co ARB and the BZD Committee; second by Mr. <br />McKay; motion passed unanimously. <br />d. Space Age Industrial Design Inc., 31251 Bradley Road, a proposal to con~ruct an <br />office and shop addition to the e ' buildiztg. The plans, as pr by the owner <br />Don Hardy, include a 65 foot by 80 foot expansion to the back shop area and constnic~ion <br />of a 40 foot by 35 foot office exp .The proposal has been approved by the g <br />Commission and Architectural Rev~w Board. The conmd+ttce had no • ns. Mrs. <br />Saringer moved to approve with the of the Co 'on, ARB <br />and Engineering Department; second by Mr. Nashar; mc~iam passed unaa~mously. <br />e. Water Tower Square Showing Center. In attendance were George ens and <br />Mr. Khoury of Carnegie Mara Comany, Ron Fiala the proms arced, Roger <br />Newberry the project engineer and Porten Road residcets David Hotter and Barb and <br />Tom Herbster. This shopping center will iachule four ups: a sports mart, video books <br />and media store, a home ce and electrons store and a fiarnitru~c or office su~-ly <br />store. The city has applied for a grant to the Ohio Public Works C for roadway <br />improvements. In the event that the grant is not rvead, the devekrper has agreed to <br />contribute $25,000 toward. the signaliasction at lid ami Porter road. This proposal <br />was approved by Planning Co '~ and the Ar~tectural Review Hoard. The <br />recommendations from the C 'an were discussed at le~th with the <br />developer who agreed to all but the lan ' g of 150 parking spaces. The cottee <br />approved the proposal Mrs. Saringer moved to approve the proposal far Water Tower <br />Square Shopping Center whh the r of the Comm whh the <br />exception of the landbanked parking maces and with the recomm~dations of the ARB <br />and BZD Committee; seccmd by Mr. McKay. Mr. Limpert asked if thisproposal was the <br />same as presented at the g Common. Mrs. Sariager said it was the same with <br />the exception of the 150 landbanked parking spaces. The motion was approved <br />unanimously. <br />f. Ordinance 94-167, a street vacation on the north end of Root Road. Resiclem Neil <br />Clough was in attendance. The p Commission approved the vacation, and the <br />BZD Committee recommended approval with the mchuuon of an ea in a 60 foot <br />radius from the southwest corner of the property being vacated. Thy twill <br />eliminate the need for the city to buy back the property at some future time. Ordnance <br />94-167 will be introduced and passed on suspension of the rule because the delay is <br />causing a financial hardship on Mr. Clough. <br />g.
