Council Minutes of 9/6/94 <br />On behalf of his stafiy Service Director Bolilmann thanked Mr. McKay for his compliments <br />regarding the Labor Day parade. However, Mr. Bohlmann wameal to note that thanks <br />should also be extended to Safety Director Kesler and her staff and to the Police <br />Department and Capt. Ruple in partic~ilar. <br />Margaret McKay, 5197 Colu~ia Road, said that the Labor Day event had been a great <br />parade and everyone who partic~ated ~ou~ be congratulated. She saki that this type of <br />event is a tradition in our country, and she hoped chy officials would see the importance <br />of it should the opportunity come up agagt sometime m the future. Mrs. McKay <br />expressed dismay that the school band did not participate m the parade. Mr. Iawpert said <br />that the band directors told him that the parents did not want then children to participate <br />in another parade. Mayor Boyle said that he had a letter from the super~tendem saying <br />the decision not to participate was made by the band leader, the sup~ttendent and the <br />band boosters. He wiIl supply a copy of the letter to alt Council Members. On another <br />matter, Mrs. McKay said that the area of Mastick Road and Cow Road was very <br />congested and dangerous b~ause of the cars 8 right turns on red from Ma~ick onto <br />Cohunbia. Addmg to the congestion is the traffic exiting Kennedy Ridge Road anti the <br />Bridlewood Apartments. She would like to see the right turn on red at Mastick Road <br />eliminated. Mayor Boyle said he would have the traffic engineer look into the problem <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 94-90 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its second reading as <br />amended. An ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for the purchase of <br />Springvale Country Chtb as amended. <br />Ordinance No. 94-108 introduced by Mr. Nashar was given its second reading as <br />amended. An ordinance amending the traffic control file of the City of North Ohan~~l by <br />providing for the installation of a `~lo Le$ Turn" (R 121-24) sign with ~xpplementary <br />legend " 7:30 a.m to 8:00 a.m. School Days, Except Buses" at the intersection of Revere <br />Drive and Butternut Ridge Road for traffic traveling in a northerly direction on Revere <br />Drive and turning west onto Butternut Ridge Road, and declaring an emergency as <br />amended. <br />Ordinance No. 94-111 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its second reading as <br />amended. An ordinance creating a new Chapter 957 of the Codified Ord~ances of the <br />City of North Olmsted entity "Sale and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages in Public <br />Buildings and on Public Grounds," as amended. <br />Resolution No. 94-113 introduced by Mayor Boyle and the entire Council was given its <br />second reading. A resolution authorizing the Personnel and Administrative Services <br />Director to advertise for bids for a group life insurance program to cover all City of Forth <br />Olmsted non-bargaining unit employees. <br />5 <br /> <br />
