Council Minutes of 7/5/94 <br />Andrew Dzaatkowicz, 5015 Douglas Drive, lives a few minutes from the park and does <br />not want to have alcoholic beverages there because it is a family place. <br />Mary Laisy, 25780 Butternut Ridge Road, is very much against having alcoholic <br />beverages in the park. <br />Kathy Grabowski, 24211 Fairlawn Drive, asked Law Director Gareau if the city would <br />have liability should an accidem occur because of the sale of alcoholic beverages in the <br />park. Mr. Gareau replied that in the State of Ohio someone who sells alcoholic beverages <br />to an intoxicated person effi be held liable. The owner of the property is not respon~le. <br />Ms. Grabowski said she is a member of MADD and is totally against the sale of alcoholic <br />beverages in the park. <br />Ruth Bartel, 28502 Douglas Drive, said that the people who live near the park have put up <br />with noise, dust, and parkiQg because it is a family place. She is very much against <br />alcoholic beverages in the park. <br />Janice Pope, 26972 Kennedy Ridge Extension is against having alcoholic beverages in the <br />park. <br />Fred Matthews, 28040 North Park Drive, is a life member of the CWA of the AFL-CIO. <br />However, he feels that the city does not need alcoholic beverages in the park. He feels <br />that adults should set a goad example. <br />Kathy Smith, 5089 Eat Park Drive, has lived across from the park since 1969 and <br />remembers when there was a drug problem a number of years ago. The police did a good <br />job of clearing up that problem However, she sees more trouble for the police and <br />residents if alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park. <br />Julia Brown, 5352 Evergreen Drive, is totally opposed to even this one-time permit for the <br />sale of alcoholic beverages in the park. <br />Patricia Bober, 5225 East Park Drive, said that she and her husband are totally opposed to <br />alcoholic beverages in the park. She feels that making an exception now would make it <br />difficult to say no in the future. <br />Ken Lindemann, 5212 Douglas Drive, lives very close to the park and is very much <br />opposed to alcoholic beverages in the park. He does not feel the city should do something <br />like this to get notoriety that does not do anything for what people think of our <br />community. He does not feel this is apropos for the comnm~nity. <br />6 <br /> <br />
