Council Minutes of 5/17/94 <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) With regard to the cement problems, the city cannot <br />become involved in the residents' litigation because we are not a party to it. The parties <br />are the cement contractor, the supplier and the homeowner. <br />2) The Eliza Jennings brief has bean received, and we must reply within 20 days. <br />3) An answer has been find in the NARI case. <br />4) The cable TV contract has been reviewed and will soon be finalized and presented to <br />Cablevision. <br />Finance Director Burns reported: 1) The note ordinance providing for financing for the <br />new fire station is being presented tonight. The fiscal officer's certificate has been <br />presented. <br />2) The city has made acounter-proposal to the RTA contract proposal. The contract is <br />fairly well completed with the exception of three basic issues. <br />Mrs. Saringer asked the Mayor and Law Director if it would be possible to reinstate the <br />senior citizen discount in the new cable TV contract. Mr. Gareau mated that issue could <br />be raised at the public hearing which will be held to discuss the cable TV proposal. <br />Mr. McKay, Chairperson of the North Olmsted Housing Council, reported: 1) The <br />Housing Council met on Monday, May 16, 1994, and briefly discussed tax incentives for <br />senior housing. The Housing Council is currently considering a home ma~tenance code <br />which should be finalized at the next meeting in June. It will then be presented to Council <br />for approval. <br />No Audience Participation <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 94-78 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance amending Section 1125.01 and 1125.03 of Chester 1125 entitled Architectural <br />Review Board. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Lind; moon passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 94-78 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 94-81 introduced by Mr. McKay on behalf of the Mayor and entire <br />Council was given its second reading. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public <br />Service to advertise for and accept bids for constructing a new fire station as detailed in <br />the specifications on file and authorizing the Mayor to contract for same, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />Resolution No. 94-82 introduced by Mr. McKay on behalf of the Mayor and entire <br />Council was given its second reading. A resohition authorizing the Iirector of Public <br />Service to advertise for and ace~t bids for improven-ts to the Dover Lift Station as <br />detailed in the specifications on file and authorizing the Mayor to contract for same, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />3 <br />
