Council Minutes of 5/4/94
~,,, 4. Mr. Lind cast a `2io" vote on Ordinance No. 94-77, and his vote did not change the
~lr result. Mr. Lind said his reasons for the no vote were based exclusively upon the
Springvale issue and are as follows:
a. Council is being asked to purchase Springvale. Mr. Lind feels that solid financial data
and complete information have not been received by Council. Projections have been based
on proprietary information not readfty avadabk to Council.
b. Mr. Lind is concerned with ~+cncling over ~4 million in tax money on a venture such as
this. Nothing is certain when it comes to buying a business. Thee are no guarantees that
the General Fund will not be required to subskli~ze Springvale Golf Course in the future.
He feels the funds can better be used to provide services to the entire city.
