Council Minutes of 4/19!94 <br />twelve months; and, hopefully, the city can take advantage of an additional three months <br />at lower interest rates. <br />2) This week the. city received the final audit on the contract with the Regional Transit <br />Authority. The city will receive approximately $3,000 from RTA. Although the contract <br />expired on December 31, 1993, it has been mutually extended until a new agree~t can <br />be finalized. RTA has presented a proposal, and the city is in the process of drawing up a <br />formal counter-proposal. <br />3) Recently Governor Voinovich signed legislation which will create a new husiness entity <br />called a limited liability corporation. The ~h' is inve~igating whether the tax ordinances <br />will need to be amended to include such an entity or whether it is covered by the current <br />provisions. <br />4) Apri130 is the deadline for filing city income tax returns. <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee, reported: <br />1) The committee met on April 11, and in attendance were Council Members LiIDpert, <br />Lind, McKay, Musial, Nashar and Service Director Bohlnann. The following items were <br />discussed: <br />a. Ordinance 94-63 which provides for the installation of a traffic signal to be located at <br />Great Northern Boulevard and Al Moen Drive. The signal does meet warrants, and the <br />committee recommended approval. <br />b. Ordinance 94-66 provides for the installation of a no left turn sign at Revere Drive and <br />Butternut Ridge Road from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m weekdays except for buses. The committee <br />recommended approval. <br />2) On April 7, a meeting was held in Congressman Hoke's office to discuss the <br />Crocker/Steams extension project. The meeting was held to provide information to <br />Stearns Road residents south of Lorain Road. This project is now projected to begin in <br />1998. <br />3) Mr. Nashar moved that Council accept a liquor permit transfer from Chi Chi's USA, <br />Inc., DBA Chi Chi's Mexican Re~aurant, 26410 Great Northern Plaza to Chi Chi's Inc., <br />26410 Great Northern Plaza; second by Mrs. Bahas; motion passed unanimously. <br />4) Mr. Nashar moved that Council accept a new C1 liquor permit for A Beverages Inc., <br />DBA Northern Beverage (Minotti's), 25911 Great Northern Shopping Center; second by <br />Mrs. Saringer; motion passed unanimously. <br />Mr. McKay, Chairperson of the Streets & Drainage Committee, reported: 1) The <br />committee met on April 11, and in attendance were committee members Nashar, Limpert, <br />McKay; Council Member Lmd; Service Director Bohhnann; Paul Briggs, a guest from the <br />East Ohio Gas Company; Karla Rogers, a guest from the Building Industry Association. <br />The following items were discussed: <br />a. Ordinance 94-57, which deals with the insurance and permit fee for excavations. The <br />permit fee will be increased from $25 to $50. The $50 will help offset the cost of the <br />,; inspector who must be in attendance when the excavation is being done. <br />4 <br />~~.~~~~ <br />
