Council Minutes of 4/18/95 <br />.:,~ discussion, the BZD Committee requested the addition of speed bins in the parking lot. <br />~~,- The proposal was approved by the Planning Commission on March 14 and by ARB on <br />March 22. Council's approval will be conditional on all requirements being met. Mrs. <br />Saringer moved to approve the Lazy Boy Gallery only after the easements and plat are <br />submitted to the Engineering Department and Law Department; detailed utility drawings <br />are submitted and approved; Mr. Zergott reviews and approves of the landscaping plan; <br />with all recommendations of ARB, Planning Commission and BZD; other miscellaneous <br />recommendations. The motion was seconded by Mr. McKay and unanimously passed. <br />c. John Knox Church, 25200 Lorain Road, a proposal to add an enclosed vestibule and a <br />new vehicular entrance drive on the west side of the property. Church representative Mr. <br />Nagy and architect Mr. Serne presented the plans. The plans were approved by the ARB <br />on March 22 and Planning Commission on March 28. The BZD Committee had no <br />objections. Mrs. Beringer moved to approve with the recommendations of ARB and <br />Planning Commission; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. Mr. Nagy <br />thanked Council on behalf of the members and staff of John Knox Church. <br />d. Marjak Development Company, a proposal to continue Olmsted Plaza at Fleharty and <br />Lorain Roads. Architect Mr. Mongello, Gregg McKee and Marshall Brown presented the <br />plans which entail the replacement of a simple family home and existing commercial <br />building with a new retail development. Although the BZD Committee realized this plan <br />was not the ideal situation, the BZA had granted variances on February 1. The plan was <br />approved by ARB on March 22 and Planning Commission on March 28 with certain <br />recommendations that were forwarded to the BZD Committee. Council approval is <br />contingent on the submission of the lot assembly, engineering plans and approval of storm <br />drainage plans. Mrs. Saringer moved to approve with the recommendations of ARB and <br />Planning Commission, including all recommendations submitted to the BZD Committee <br />and BZD Committee recommendations; second by Mr. Nashar. Roll call: Saringer, yes; <br />Nashar, yes; Musial, yes; Limpert, yes; Lind, yes; Miller, no; McKay, no. Motion passed <br />with five affirmative votes and two negative votes. <br />e. Auto Accents, 25021 Lorain Road, a proposal to renovate a building and add a large <br />aluminum accent band to support the ssgnage on the north and west elevation of the <br />building. Bruce Schlauch and Walter Poston, vice-president of Auto Accents, presented <br />the plans. The plans were approved by ARB on March 22 and Planning Commission on <br />March 28 with the stipulation that the neon around the building be eliminated. The <br />committee had no objections to the renovation but did agree with ARB and Planning <br />Commission about the elimination of the neon. Mrs. Saringer moved to approve with the <br />recommendations of ARB, Planning Commission and the BZD Committee, including the <br />installation of a red band without the neon; second by Mr. Nashar; unanimously passed. <br />Mr. Nashar commented that the committee had objected to the neon because of the close <br />proximity of residential property. <br /> <br />
