Council Minutes of 1/3/95 <br />the residents might have. He suggested that Ms. Paradis contact his office and Mayor <br />Trupo's office to arrange times for these meetings. Ms. Paradis questioned Law Director <br />Gareau on the liability of North Olmsted on pending Township lawsuits should the <br />annexation occur. Mr. Gareau explained he was not familiar with the nature of the cases <br />and what casualty insurance might apply, but his educated guess would be that North <br />Olmsted would not be liable. <br />Kathy Grabowski, 24211 Fairlawn Drive, urged Council Members to vote against the <br />annexation for the reasons previously mentioned and especially because of her concern <br />about the current North Olmsted debt. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 94-161 introduced by Mr. Musial was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for Council-at-Large members for the <br />terms of office commencing January 1, 1996 through December 31, 1999, as amended. <br />Mr. Mussel moved for adoption; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance No. 94-161 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 94-170 introduced by Mayor Boyle and the entire Council was given its <br />third reading. An emergency ordinance enacted by the City of North Olmsted, Cuyahoga <br />County, Ohio, hereinafter referred to as the MUNICIPALITY, in the matter of the <br />hereinafter described improvement and requests the cooperation of the County of <br />Cuyahoga by its Board of County Commissioners, hereinafter referred to as the <br />COUNTY. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Lind; motion passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 94-170 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 94-175 introduced by Mr. Lind was given its third reading. A resolution <br />authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for 5,000 tons of asphalt <br />and tack coating of city streets, and authorizing the Mayor to contract for same, and <br />declaring an emergency. Mr. Lind moved for adoption; second by Mr. Nashar; motion <br />passed unanimously. Resolution. No. 94-175 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 94-162 introduced by Mr. Musial was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance establishing certasn health care benefits for the position of Council-at-Large for <br />the period commencing January 1, 1996 and ending December 31, 1999. <br />Resolution No. 94-182 introduced by Mr. McKay on behalf of Mayor Boyle was given its <br />second reading. A resolution supporting Jump-Start America and declaring an emergency. <br />Mr. McKay moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings; second by Mr. <br />Lind; motion passed unanimously. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Lind. <br />Roll call: McKay, yes; Lmd, yes; Musial, yes; Beringer, yes; Litt~pert, no; Nashar, yes. <br />Motion passed with five aiBrmative votes and one negative vote.
