Council Minutes of 11/19/96 <br />e. Improvements are continuing at the Recreation Center. Clear micro-filament safety <br />yF.. <br />,,~ netting was installed around the studio rink. The work was done in-house by the <br />maintenance staff for nearly half the cost of the quoted contractor price of $3,000. New <br />carpeting and rubber base molding was installed in the ice arena warming area. Also, new <br />carpeting was installed along the perimeter of the studio rink and the main hallway of the <br />center. The rest rooms received a facelift. The colored accent tiles throughout the main <br />lobby were replaced to create a new look, and the hallway area around the ticket booth <br />was updated. <br />Mr. Lind reported for Mr. O'Grady, Chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations and <br />Legislation; Long-Range Planning Committee: I) The committee met on November 12. <br />Present were committee members O'Grady, Musial, Lind; Council Member McKay; <br />Building Commissioner Conway. Ordinance 96-174 was discussed. This legislation deals <br />with the acceptance of a state-wide residential construction code for 1, 2 and 3 family <br />structures. Because the committee had a number of unanswered questions, it was decided <br />to hold the legislation pending further analysis of Ohio Senate Bill 118 on which the <br />legislation is based. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 96-156 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its third reading. Arz <br />ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for the Mayor of the City of North <br />Olmsted for the term of office commencing January 1, 1998 and ending December 31, <br />2001, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Lind moved for adoption; second by Mr. McKay; <br />motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 96-156 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 96-157 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for the Director of Law of the City of <br />North Olmsted for the term of office commencing January 1, 1998 and ending December <br />31, 2001, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Lind moved for adoption; second by Mr. <br />McKay; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 96-157 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 96-158 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for the Director of Finance of the City <br />of North Olmsted for the term of office commencing January 1, 1998 and ending <br />December 31, 2001, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Lind moved for adoption; second <br />by Mr. Musial; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 96-158 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 96-159 introduced by Mayor Boyle was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for the President of Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted for the term of office commencing January 1, 1998 and ending <br />December 31, 2001, and declaring an emergency as amended.
