Council Minutes of 2/20/96 <br />Executive Director/Secretary of the Cleveland Metroparks, has told Mr. Nashar that he <br />does not have any objection to this proposal. <br />Mrs. Saringer asked Mr. Nashar if he knew whether repairs would be made to south <br />Clague Road. Mr. Nashar replied that he was sure the Service Department would attend <br />to this area when the weather permitted. <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: 1) The <br />committee met this evening to discuss a liquor permit transfer. In attendance were <br />committee members O'Grady, Limpert and Nashar; Council Members McKay, Musial and <br />Saringer; Council President Boehmer; Safety Director Kasler; Police Chief Viola. The <br />liquor permit transfer is from Darby O'Tooles to Gold Bar Inc. The new establishment <br />will be a go-go bar. This situation has been discussed with Chief Viola, Law Director <br />Gareau and Safety Director Kasler. Tlie committee strongly objected to the liquor permit <br />transfer. Mr. Nashar moved that Council object to the liquor permit transfer from Darby <br />O'Tooles, 24280 Lorain Road to Gold Bar Inc., 24280 Lorain Road; second by Mr. <br />Limpert; motion passed unanimously. <br />2) The Cuyahoga County Board of Health will hold two meetings to discuss a mosquito <br />spraying program for the Bradley Woods Metroparks area. The first meeting will be held <br />at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, at the Meadow Woods Golf Course, 29694 Center <br />Ridge Road. The second meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, at <br />the North Olmsted Community Cabin. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairperson of the lutra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- <br />Range Planning Committee: 1) The committee met on February 7. In attendance were <br />committee members Lind, Musial and O'Grady; Council Members McKay and Limpert; <br />Directors Kasler and Burns. A primary focus of this committee has been to improve <br />reporting procedures to enable the city to look out farther into the future and do a more <br />efficient job of caring for the long-term needs of citizens. The first area that the <br />committee will be concerned with is financial planning. Council Members have been asked <br />to submit their requests to the Finance Director as to what they would like to see in a <br />monthly financial report and what information should be provided so that Council can <br />make long-term decisions. <br />2) The committee will meet at 7 p.m. on February 22 to review an appointment to the <br />Architectural Review Board and at 7 p.m. on March 6 to continue the discussion of long- <br />range financial planning. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Sharon Lepore, 5551 Quail Run, representing the Pheasant's Walk-Quail Run and West <br />Park-Forest Ridge Civic Associations, addressed Council on the bike path for the <br />proposed Crocker/Steams Road extension. The two organizations have worked together <br />on the issues of the Crocker-Stearns Road project since 1991 and consider themselves a <br />very reasonable and hardworking group. They have successfully worked with members of <br />the city, state and federal government as well as the County Engineer's office and ODOT. <br />5 <br /> <br />
