Council Minutes of 2/6/96 <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairperson of the Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings Committee: 1) <br />The committee met jointly with the Finance Committee on January 22. In attendance <br />were Council Members Limpert, Musial, Nashar, O'Grady and Saringer; Service Director <br />Bohlmann; City Engineer Deichmann; Assistant Engineer Griffith. The discussion of <br />Ordinance 96-3 was continued since there were questions still unanswered from the <br />previous meeting. One concern dealt with the inclusion in the contract of a section calling <br />for the reimbursement for transportation and lodging. The company has agreed to delete <br />this section. The committee voted to recommend approval as long as this section was <br />removed from the contract. <br />2) The Recreation Committee is invited to attend the March 13 meeting of the Recreation <br />Commission at 7 p.m, at the Rec Center. <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: 1) The <br />committee met this evening to discuss a liquor permit. The permit for the former <br />Chester's Restaurant, which was located at 4949 Great Northern Boulevard, will be put <br />into safekeeping and relocated to 25915 Great Northern Boulevard. The committee had <br />no objections. Mr. Nashar moved that Council have no objection to the placement of the <br />liquor permit in safekeeping; second by Mrs. Saringer; motion passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairperson of the Transportation Committee: 1) The committee met on <br />January 22. In attendance were committee members O'Grady, Saringer and Limpert; <br />Council Members Nashar, McKay and Musial; Service Director Bohlmann; City Engineer <br />Deichmann; Assistant Engineer Crriffith. The following items were discussed: <br />a. Ordinance 96-16, amending the traffic control file to provide for a traffic light at <br />Brookpark Road and Great Northern Shopping Center and the Stark parcel to the north. <br />The light has already been installed, and the committee recommended approval. <br />b. Ordinance 96-17, amending the traffic control file to provide for a traffic light on <br />Lorain Road at the Toys R Us drive. The light has akeady been installed, and the <br />committee recommended approval. <br />c. Ordinance 96-18, amending the traffic control file to provide for a traffic light at <br />Country Club Boulevard and Victoria Lane. The light has akeady been installed, and the <br />committee recommended approval. <br />d. Ordinance 96-20, amending the traffic control file to provide for a traffic light at <br />Brookpark Road and the Wal-Mart drive. The light has already been installed, and the <br />committee recommended approval. <br />e. Ordinance 96-15, amending the traffic control file to provide for signs denoting the <br />truck route in and out of the Wal-Mart drives. The committee recommended approval. <br />f. Ordinance 96-19, amending the traffic control file to provide for the installation of a <br />traffic light at the intersection of Walter Road and Lorain Road.
