Council Minutes of 1/16/96 <br />5) The following reappointments to the boards and commissions are submitted for <br />Council's approval: <br />• Lois Zolar -Civil Service. Term -January 1, 1996 through December 3 1, 2001. (This <br /> appointment does not require approval by Council.) <br />• David Spoerke -Board of Building Code Appeals. Term -January 1, 1996 through <br /> December 31, 2000. <br />• Kate O'Rourke - Planning Commission. Term - January 1, 1996 through <br /> December 31, 2000. <br />• John Maloney -Board of Zoning Appeals. Term -January 1, 1996 through <br /> December 31, 2000. <br />• William Purper -Board of Zoning Appeals. Term -January 1, 1996 through <br /> December 31, 2000. <br />• Mark Yager -Architectural Review Board. Term -January 1, 1996 through <br /> December 31, 1997. <br />• Susan Krieger -Architectural Review Board. Term -January 1, 1996 through <br /> December 31, 1997. <br />• Thomas Gallagher -Architectural Review Board. Term -January 1, 1996 through <br /> December 31, 1997. <br />• Linda Pallotta -Human Resources Advisory Board. Term -January 1, 1996 through <br /> December 31, 2000. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- <br />Range Planning Committee: 1) Mr. O'Grady moved that Council approve the Mayor's <br />reappointments to the various boards and commissions; second by Mr. McKay; motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Law Director Gareau: 1) The deposition in the Thomas Fattlar case was held last week. <br />Although this case is being handled by insurance counsel, the Law Department has asked <br />to be involved specifically to deal with the issue of the interpretation of the Charter. After <br />discovery is completed, the Law Department will file a motion for summary judgment. <br />2) A contract negotiation meeting with Cablevision was held today. The next negotiation <br />session with the firefighters union has been set for January 25. <br />Finance Director Burns: 1) The Finance Department has been contacted by State Senator <br />Suhadolnik and the State Auditor's office with regard to two resolutions recently passed <br />by City Council: Resolution 95- I24, which requested the General Assembly consider <br />giving municipalities statutory authority to create funds to establish reserves for accrued <br />liabilities; Resolution 95-143, which dealt with the establishment of a rainy-day fund. <br />These resolutions are being reviewed and considered for follow-up action. <br />2) Council has received the requested further explanation of cohunn D from the <br />spreadsheet prepared by the Finance Director. <br />3) The State Auditor has released the 1991 and 1992 audit with a disclaimer of opinion. <br />With the passage of Ordinance 95-161, there should be no problem with future audits. <br />;.~~, 4) A pre-audit conference for the 1993 and 1994 audit was held earlier this evening. <br />2 <br />
