Council Minutes of 12/2/97 <br />precariously close to the right of way, the cost will be close to three million dollars. A <br />.~~, simple overlay, which would not address the problems of flooded sidewalks, would cost <br />approximately $600,000. <br />Jim Calvitti, a North Olmsted Police Department officer and president of the local union, <br />thanked Council for their action of extending the contract so that negotiations can take <br />place with the new administration. On behalf of himself and the North Olmsted police <br />officers, he thanked Mayor Ed Boyle and his administration for everything they have done <br />for the department in the past eight years. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 97-100 introduced by Mr. Nashar was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance amending the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted by providing for <br />the installation of stop signs in the Bridgeport subdivision at the following locations: <br />northeast corner of Maple Ridge Road and Bridgeport Drive intersection (regulating <br />westbound traffic on Maple Ridge Drive); southwest corner of Sharon Drive and <br />Bridgeport Drive intersection (regulating eastbound traffic on Sharon Drive); southwest <br />corner of Woodview Drive and Bridgeport Drive intersection (regulating eastbound traffic <br />on Woodview Drive); and southwest corner of Bridgeport Drive intersection with <br />Bridgeport Drive (regulating eastbound traffic on Bridgeport Drive), and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. Nashar moved for adoption; second by Mr. Lind; motion passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 97-100 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 97-103 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance adopting a new and revised Section 911.07 entitled "Building Sewers and <br />Connections" of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio, and <br />declaring an emergency. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Nashar; motion <br />passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 97-103 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 96-196 introduced by Mayor Boyle and the entire Council was given its <br />third reading. A resolution in opposition to the merger of Centerior Energy Corporation <br />and Ohio Edison under a new holding company called FirstEnergy as it is currently <br />proposed. Mr. McKay moved to table; second by Mr. Lind; motion passed unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 96-196 is tabled. <br />Resolution No. 96-195 introduced by Mayor Boyle and the entire Council was given its <br />third reading. A resolution in opposition to the rate reduction plan as filed by Centerior <br />Energy with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Mr. Nashar moved to table; second <br />by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 96-195 is tabled. <br />Ordinance No. 96-110 introduced by Mayor Boyle and the entire Council was given its <br />third reading. An ordinance approving a new sewer service agreement between the City <br />of North Olmsted and the City of Fairview Park under which a portion of the City of <br />"~ Fairview Park is served by the city's sanitary sewer system modifying the existing <br />5 <br />.
