Jim Calvitti, a North Olmsted Police Department officer and president of the local union, thanked Council for their action of extending the contract so that negotiations can take place with the new administration. On behalf of himself and the North Olmsted police officers, he thanked Mayor Ed Boyle and his administration for everything they have done for the department in the past eight years. LEGISLATION Ordinance No. 97-100 introduced by Mr. Nashar was given its third reading. An ordinance amending the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted by providing for the installation of stop signs in the Bridgeport subdivision at the following locations: northeast corner of Maple Ridge Road and Bridgeport Drive intersection (regulating westbound traffic on Maple Ridge Drive); southwest corner of Sharon Drive and Bridgeport Drive intersection (regulating eastbound traffic on Sharon Drive); southwest corner of Woodview Drive and Bridgeport Drive intersection (regulating eastbound traffic on Woodview Drive); and southwest corner of Bridgeport Drive intersection with Bridgeport Drive (regulating eastbound traffic on Bridgeport Drive), and declaring an emergency. Mr. Nashar moved for adoption; second by Mr. Lind; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 97-100 adopted. Ordinance No. 97-103 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading. An ordinance adopting a new and revised Section 911.07 entitled "Building Sewers and Connections" of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio, and declaring an emergency. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 97-103 adopted. Resolution No. 96-196 introduced by Mayor Boyle and the entire Council was given its third reading. A resolution in opposition to the merger of Centerior Energy Corporation and Ohio Edison under a new holding company called FirstEnergy as it is currently proposed. Mr. McKay moved to table; second by Mr. Lind; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 96-196 is tabled. Resolution No. 96-195 introduced by Mayor Boyle and the entire Council was given its third reading. A resolution in opposition to the rate reduction plan as filed by Centerior Energy with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Mr. Nashar moved to table; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 96-195 is tabled. Ordinance No. 96-110 introduced by Mayor Boyle and the entire Council was given its third reading. An ordinance approving a new sewer service agreement between the City of North Olmsted and the City of Fairview Park under which a portion of the City of "~ Fairview Park is served by the city's sanitary sewer system modifying the existing 5 .
