Council Minutes of 6/17/97 <br />removing exact dimensions and adding wording to make it consistent with the <br />requirements of the Zoning Code. <br />c. BZD Committee meetings for the remainder of the year will be at 6:30 p.m. on the <br />following Mondays: July 28, August 25, September 29, October 27, November 24 and <br />December 29. The committee will try to accommodate special meeting requests. <br />Mr. McKay, Chairperson of the Environmental Control Committee: 1) The committee <br />met on June 9. In attendance were committee members Limpert, Lind and McKay; <br />Council Members Nashar, O'Grady and Musial; Service Director Bohlmann. On the <br />agenda was Resolution 97-54 which opposes reduction of federal funding for airport noise <br />mitigation grants. The committee recommended passage. <br />Mr. Lind, Chairperson of the Finance Committee: 1) The committee met on June 10. <br />Present were committee members McKay and Lind, Council Member Limpert, Finance <br />Director Burns and Service Director Bohlmann. The committee discussed Ordinance <br />No. 97-56, the 1998 tax budget. Items of note within the budget: a 15% increase in <br />property taxes was built into the budget in anticipation of the triennial reappraisal; a 3% <br />increase in income taxes was built in; 60% of the debt service payable inside the 11.1 mill <br />limit will be from sources other than the General Fund. As reported by Mr. Burns, the <br />public hearing on the tax budget will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1. <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: 1) The <br />committee met this evening, June 17. In attendance were committee members Limpert, <br />O'Grady and Nashar and Council Members McKay, Saringer and Lind. The following <br />items were discussed: <br />a. A liquor permit transfer, 30850 Lorain Road, formerly doing business as Moon <br />Shadows and Night Falls, to the present owners, Alexander's Restaurant and Billiards Inc. <br />The committee had no objection to the transfer. Mr. Limpert moved that Council accept <br />the liquor permit transfer at 30850 Lorain Road; second by Mr. O'Grady; motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />b. Resolution No. 97-37, a resolution requesting that the State limit the number of liquor <br />transfers coming into our district and, if a transfer is made, to require that the permit <br />remain at the same location. Section 5 of the legislation stipulates that the act specify that <br />the issuance of said transfers under the economic development project amendment will not <br />conflict with any other part of the Code and will allow the electors their on-going right of <br />referendum to vote a district dry. The committee recommended approval. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- <br />Range Planning Committee: 1) The committee met on June 10. Present were committee <br />members Lind, Musial and O'Grady, Council Members McKay, Limpert and Nashar; <br />Mayor Boyle; Finance Director Burns; Service Director Bohlmann; Administrative <br />Assistant Hensal. Agenda items were as follows: <br />a. Ordinance No. 97-52, which provides for the submission to the voters of North <br />'~"` Olmsted of an amendment to the Charter to provide for collective bargaining with various <br />-~~ <br />3 <br /> <br />
