Sunnyside Toyota dealer on Lorain Road, a request to construct two additions and
renovate the exterior of the building. Principals present from Sunnyside were Kurt Frye
and Bob Matakovich, architect. One of the problems that ensued in this area is that the
Architectural Review Board will not agree with the renovation concept of the building
exterior. Sunnyside appeared before the BZD to appeal such decision. The BZD
Committee members informed Sunnyside that they would consult directly with the
Architectural Review Board so as to enable them to fully understand their side of the
issue. The committee will contact the Sunnyside representatives in the very near future.
No further action was taken by the BZD Committee.
Mr. McKay, Chairperson of the Environmental Committee: 1) The Cleveland Metroparks
and the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area have been jointly working on a deer
reduction program. They will be holding public meetings for citizen input. One such
meeting is being held tonight in the City of Brecksville, and other meetings will be
scheduled in the near future.
2) The county will be addressing the mosquito problem in the Bradley Woods area.
Parents are asked to keep their children indoors one hour before and after sunset which
are high incident times for mosquitoes. This will lessen the chance of children contracting
LaCrosse Encephalitis which is spread by mosquitoes. The city did have at least one
reported case last year.
Mr. Nashar commented that he recently spoke to Vern Hartenburg, Executive Director of
the Cleveland Metroparks, concerning the meetings on the deer reduction program. He
asked that Mr. Hartenburg forward to him a copy of the results of this evening's meeting
in Brecksville. Mr. Nashar will share that information with other Council members.
Mr. Lind, Chairperson of the Finance Committee: 1) The Finance Committee met on
April 21.
