Council Minutes of 1/7/97 Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: 1) The committee met on January 6, and in attendance were Council Members Saringer, McKay, Limpert, O'Grady and Nashar. A liquor permit transfer from Beverage Lane, 4695 Great Northern Boulevard to Elizabeth Harper, Inc, at the same address was discussed. Mr. Nashar moved to approve the liquor permit transfer from F & S Salem Inc., DBA Beverage Lane, 4695 Great Northern Blvd. to Elizabeth Harper Inc., DBA Cheap Tobacco, 4695 Great Northern Blvd.; the motion was seconded by Mr. Limpert and unanimously approved. Mr. O'Grady, Chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- Range Planning Committee: 1) A public hearing on the Community Development Block Grant Program will be held on Wednesday, January 29, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. The public is invited to attend. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Human Resources Director Don Copeland. 2) The committee met on December 23 to discuss Resolutions 96-195 and 96-196. In attendance were Council Members Musial, Lind, Limpert and O'Grady. Both pieces of legislation deal with Centerior Energy; and, after some discussion, a number of questions remained. A follow-up meeting has been scheduled for 7 p.m. on January 14 at which time representatives from Centerior Energy and their bargaining units will be present. NO AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION LEGISLATION Ordinance No. 96-181 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading. An ordinance to enact a new Chapter 929 entitled "Underground Communications Systems" of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio and declaring an emergency. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 96-181 adopted. Ordinance No. 96-182 introduced by Mr. Musial was given its third reading. An ordinance accepting a storm drainage easement located within Permanent Parcel No. 232- 07-005 in the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an emergency. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 96-182 adopted. Resolution No. 96-183 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for construction of catch basin, manhole, sidewalk, curbing and pavement repairs at various locations in the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an emergency. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. O'Grady; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 96-183 adopted. 4
