Council Minutes of 1/7/97 <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: 1) The <br />committee met on January 6, and in attendance were Council Members Saringer, McKay, <br />Limpert, O'Grady and Nashar. A liquor permit transfer from Beverage Lane, 4695 Great <br />Northern Boulevard to Elizabeth Harper, Inc, at the same address was discussed. Mr. <br />Nashar moved to approve the liquor permit transfer from F & S Salem Inc., DBA <br />Beverage Lane, 4695 Great Northern Blvd. to Elizabeth Harper Inc., DBA Cheap <br />Tobacco, 4695 Great Northern Blvd.; the motion was seconded by Mr. Limpert and <br />unanimously approved. <br />Mr. O'Grady, Chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- <br />Range Planning Committee: 1) A public hearing on the Community Development Block <br />Grant Program will be held on Wednesday, January 29, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers. The public is invited to attend. Additional information can be obtained by <br />contacting Human Resources Director Don Copeland. <br />2) The committee met on December 23 to discuss Resolutions 96-195 and 96-196. In <br />attendance were Council Members Musial, Lind, Limpert and O'Grady. Both pieces of <br />legislation deal with Centerior Energy; and, after some discussion, a number of questions <br />remained. A follow-up meeting has been scheduled for 7 p.m. on January 14 at which <br />time representatives from Centerior Energy and their bargaining units will be present. <br />NO AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 96-181 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance to enact a new Chapter 929 entitled "Underground Communications Systems" <br />of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 96-181 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 96-182 introduced by Mr. Musial was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance accepting a storm drainage easement located within Permanent Parcel No. 232- <br />07-005 in the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an emergency. Mr. McKay moved <br />for adoption; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 96-182 <br />adopted. <br />Resolution No. 96-183 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for construction <br />of catch basin, manhole, sidewalk, curbing and pavement repairs at various locations in the <br />City of North Olmsted, and declaring an emergency. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; <br />second by Mr. O'Grady; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 96-183 adopted. <br />4 <br /> <br />
