It is the city's view that this is allowed by the contract and we <br />;~,;~ will, if necessary, arbitrate that issue. <br />5) About a month ago, the sign at the Office Max shopping plaza was blown down during <br />a wind storm. The position of the Building Department is that a new sign must comply <br />with the current Zoning Code. Their attorney notified the city that he believed the sign <br />could simply be repaired. However, after discussing this matter with the Building <br />Department and inspecting the sign and how it was installed, the Law Department has <br />informed the attorney that it cannot be repaired but must be replaced according to the <br />current codes. <br />Finance Director Copfer: 1) Today the remaining portion of the city's debt payment was <br />made. Funds are available to pay off the emergency vehicle a year ahead of time-this <br />will be done on December 17. <br />2) She ran an expenditure ledger and the line items look "fantastic." We have been <br />keeping up with the line item transfers through Councilmanic action of transfer <br />ordinances, and it has really paid off. <br />3) A very happy and joyous holiday to all. <br />Mrs. Saringer, member of the North Olmsted Committee on Paratransit: 1) The <br />committee met on December 9 and discussed the following items: <br />• Director Copeland hopes to establish four meetings for next year. <br />• A petty cash fund of $100 was established. <br />• The State Auditor's office will audit NOCOP in 1999. <br />• The possible purchase of payroll software and the disposition of several vehicles. <br />Mr. McKay, Chairperson of the Streets & Drainage Committee: 1) The year-end report is <br />as follows: <br />• Slab repair has been completed on Westminster Drive, Wellington Drive, Warrington <br />cul-de-sac, Huntington cul-de-sac and Tudor Drive. <br />• A complete overlay was done on Bailey, Martin and Clague Road along with <br />Wellesley, Whitehaven and Sheperd's Hill Road down to the Metroparks road. <br />• The concrete pad for the pavilion at the Clague Park has been completed. <br />• There is $100,000 left for acarry-over to do slab repair in 1999. <br />• The removal and reinstallation of the underground storage tanks is 75% complete. <br />• Brookpark phase one is complete. <br />• Cedar Point Road has been halted for the winter. <br />• Old Town Hall will be completed by December 30. <br />• The first phase of phase one of the Forest Ridge storm improvements is finished and <br />the second phase is under contract. <br />• Street lighting improvements include Canterbury Woods subdivision, Vincent Drive, <br />Magnolia and Elder. <br />• t Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee: 1) The <br />'~Mt committee rnet this evening and present were committee members Miller, Gareau and <br />2 <br /> <br />
