Council Minutes of 6/16/98 <br />- Ordinance No. 98-65 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance establishing the organization and composition of the non-uniform, part-time <br />personnel of the Police Department and declaring an emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for <br />suspension of the rule requiring three readings; second by Mr. Miller; motion passed <br />unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; second by Mr. Miller. Roll call: <br />O'Grady, yes; Miller, yes; Nashar, yes; McKay, yes; Limpert, abstain; Kasler, yes; Gareau, <br />yes. Motion passed with six affirmative votes and one abstention. Ordinance No. 98-65 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 98-66 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the North Olmsted <br />Transit Employees Association, which agreement is the collective bargaining agreement <br />between the city and the North Olmsted Transit Employees Association, and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings; <br />second by Mrs. Kasler; motion passed unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; <br />second by Mrs. Kasler; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 98-66 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 96-36 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance creating new and revised Section 1163.12 or the Zoning Code of the City of <br />North Olmsted in order to permit businesses to be identified on permanent pylon and <br />ground identification signs in business areas containing more than one building and <br />business buildings containing more than one business unit. <br />Ordinance No. 98-7I was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. Gareau. An <br />ordinance accepting a storm sewer easement located on property owned by Retail Today - <br />N. Olmsted, Limited and designated as Permanent Parcel No. 237-9-1 Cuyahoga County <br />Maps and Records, said easement shown on Exhibit "A", and declaring an emergency. <br />Mr. Gareau moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee <br />review; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. Mr. Gareau moved for <br />adoption; second by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 98-71 <br />adopted. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Mr. Gareau announced that a public hearing would be held at 7 p.m. on August 4, 1998 <br />regarding Ordinance 98-36. <br />Mr. Gareau reported on the seminar that he attended in New Mexico from Sunday to <br />Thursday of last week. It was a comprehensive study of planning and zoning that <br />introduced him to some different theories that could be used on several different issues <br />that are faced in the City of North Olmsted at this time.
