Council Minutes of 2/2/99 <br />Ordinance No. 99-12 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance amending Section 137.01 (Composition) of Chapter 137, entitled "Department <br />of Law" of the Administrative Code, in order to provide for the creation of a second Civil <br />Assistant position and further to eliminate the two positions of Law Clerk in the Law <br />Department, and declaring an emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rule <br />requiring three readings; second by Mr. Gareau; motion passed unanimously. Mr. <br />O'Grady moved for adoption; second by Mr. Gareau; motion passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance No. 99-12 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 99-13 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. O'Grady. An <br />ordinance amending Section 2 of Ordinance 98-32 entitled "An ordinance establishing <br />rates of compensation for various administrative and legislative personnel, and declaring <br />an emergency" by providing for the elimination of the position of Law Clerk in the <br />Department of Law and establishing apart-time Civil Assistant, and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings; <br />second by Mr. Miller; motion passed unanimously. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; <br />second by Mr. McKay; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 99-13 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 99-14 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. Limpert. A <br />resolution in support of the position of Senator Mike DeWine urging President Clinton to <br />intercede regarding the import of steel from foreign countries and declaring an <br />emergency. Mr. Limpert moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings; <br />second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 99-14 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 99-15 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mr. O'Grady on <br />behalf of Mayor Musial. A resolution authorizing the Director of Finance to temporarily <br />advance $300,000 of unappropriated funds available in the General Fund to appropriate <br />to the Capital Improvement Fund for the purpose of entering into a contract for HVAC, <br />lighting and painting improvements at the Recreation Center and declaring an emergency. <br />Mrs. Kasler moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee <br />review; second by Mr. Limpert; motion passed unanimously. An <br />ordinance establishing the compensation and benefits to be paid to all part-time hourly <br />employees employed by the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, and declaring an <br />emergency. Mrs. Kasler moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and <br />committee review; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance No. <br />99-16 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 99-17 was introduced and placed in first reading by Mr. O'Grady.
