Council Minutes of 2/2/99 <br /> <br />Projects that were funded in 1998 but not completed: <br />• Slab repair, $116,000. <br />• North Barton Road resurfacing, a county project, $35,000. <br />• Cedar Point Road project, which will go forward this year, $50,000. <br />• Broxbourne lift station has been advertised for bids, a $300,000 project. <br />• Brookpark to Mastick storm sewer, $570,050. <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee: 1) The <br />committee met on January 26 to discuss Ordinance No. 99-11. Present were committee <br />members Miller, Gareau and Nashar; Council members Kasler, Limpert, O'Grady, <br />McKay and Saringer; Safety Director Jenkins; Mayor Musial. Ordinance 99-11 is an <br />ordinance amending Section 555.03 of the Noise Control Code of the City of North <br />Olmsted entitled "Specific Prohibitions" so as to prohibit the operation of tow motors, <br />payloaders, backhoes and similar motorized vehicles used for loading, unloading and/or <br />transporting goods on premises within 175 feet from any residential lot line during the <br />hours of 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. This legislation addresses complaints received by the <br />administration from residents living near the retail shopping area at Great Northern <br />Shopping Center concerning the noise generated late at night by the motorized vehicles. <br />The committee recommended approval of the ordinance. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long- <br />Range Planning Committee: 1) The committee met on January 26 to discuss the <br />following items: <br />1. Appointments to Boards and Commissions: <br />• Mr. Tom Hreha to take a position on the Planning Commission. Mr. Hreha is a 29- <br />year resident of North Olmsted, has an extensive background in marketing and <br />advertising and is very interested in the city. The committee recommended <br />unanimous approval. Mr. Limpert moved to appoint Mr. Tom Hreha to the Planning <br />Commission. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nashar and unanimously approved. <br />(Term 1/1/99-12/31/03.) <br />• Reappointment of Brian Zergott, Mark Yager and Karin Schultz to the Architectural <br />Review Board. (Term 1/1/99-12/31/00.) Mr. Limpert moved to reappoint Brian <br />Zergott, Mark Yager and Karin Schultz to the ARB. The motion was seconded by <br />Mr. Gareau and unanimously approved. <br />• Reappointment of Jack Konold to the Board of Zoning Appeals. (Term 1/1/99- <br />12/31/03.) Mr. Limpert moved to reappoint Mr. Konold to the BZA. The motion <br />was seconded by Mr. Nashar and unanimously approved. <br />• Reappointment of Jackie Chavez-Anderson to the Fair Housing Board. (Term 1/1/99- <br />12/31/01.) Mr. Limpert moved to reappoint Jackie Chavez-Anderson to the Fair <br />Housing Board. The motion was seconded by Mr. Gareau and unanimously <br />approved. <br />• Reappointment of Richard Burk to the Board of Building Code Appeals. (Term <br />1/1/99-12/31/03.)
