Council Minutes of 12/19/00 on the 2000 Charter Review Commission. The committee recommended approval of ~'~ Mrs. Templeton. Mrs. Kasler moved that Council approve the appointment of Jacgi Templeton to the Fair Housing Board for an existing term that ends on December 31, 2001. The motion was seconded by Mr. Miller and unanimously approved. • Ralph Rhodes has been recommended for an appointment to the Fair Housing Board for the term commencing January 1, 2000 and ending on December 31, 2002. Mr. Rhodes was an interesting candidate in regard to his knowledge and his interest and enthusiasm for the position. He is a supporter of fair housing and fair employment having dealt with those issues in his position as a director and auditor for NASA. He is presently retired and has been a resident of North Olmsted for 30 years. He had obviously researched his pending position on the board and the duties involved therein and proffered relevant and important questions and suggestions. The committee unanimously recommended approval of Mr. Rhodes' appointment to the Fair Housing Board. Mrs. Kasler moved that Council approve the appointment of Ralph Rhodes to the Fair Housing Board for the term of January 1, 2000 through December 31, 2002. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nashar and unanimously approved. Mr. Miller, member of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long-Range Planning Committee: The committee met this evening to discuss the Mayor's requested appointment of Mr. Terence Kelly to the Board of Zoning Appeals. Present were committee members Miller and Nashar; Council members O'Grady, McKay and Gareau. Mr. Kelly would be filling the seat vacated by the late Robert Gomersall. Mr. Kelly is a electrician by profession and has been involved in North Olmsted as a volunteer in numerous ways. He has been a boys' and girls' tee-ball coach, a basketball coach at Saint Richard's, a Saint Clarence festival volunteer, and has volunteered at the Saint Malachi soup kitchen. He also served with the Marines and received a Navy Achievement Medal while serving in Vietnam. The committee recommended approval of Mr. Kelly's appointment. Mr. Miller moved that Council approve the appointment of Terrence Kelly to the Board of Zoning Appeals for the open term of January 1, 1998 through December 31, 2002. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nashar and unanimously approved. Mr. O'Grady, chairperson of the Public Safety Committee: 1) The committee met this evening at 7:25 p.m. Present were committee members O'Grady and Nashar; Council members McKay and Miller. The committee discussed three liquor transfers: • Tops Incorporated to Tops Market L.L.C. at the same location. This is merely a transfer of a liquor license from the same business from a slightly different name. This has been reviewed by the North Olmsted Police Department and there was no objection on their part. Mr. O'Grady moved that Council approve the liquor transfer from Tops Incorporated to Tops Markets L.L.C. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. • BBP Incorporated, DBA Slam Jams at 24108 Lorain Avenue, to the Voodoo Lounge Incorporated, 24108 Lorain Avenue.
