Council Minutes of 11/8/2000 <br />• Ordinance 2000-146, which amends the Traffic Control File of the City of North <br />Olmsted by providing for the installation of two "No Pazking, Stopping or Standing" <br />signs. One sign is to be affixed to the telephone pole at 26821 Sweetbriar Drive with <br />an arrow pointing west, and one sign is to be erected in the right-of--way at 26893 <br />Sweetbriar Drive with an arrow pointing east. These signs were deemed to be <br />necessary to increase the safety of students from Pine Elementary School. The signs <br />are supported by the Pine School administration, and there is no objection from the <br />residents whose properties are being affected. The committee unanimously <br />recommended approval of Ordinance 2000-146 and recommended suspension of the <br />rule requiring three readings. <br />Mr. Gareau, chairperson of the Streets & Drainage Committee: 1) The committee met on <br />Monday, October 23. Present were committee members Gareau, Kasler, McKay; <br />Council members Limpert, Nashar, Miller, O'Grady; Service Director Bohlmann, Safety <br />Director Jenkins. The committee reviewed Ordinance 2000-134, "An emergency <br />ordinance enacted by the City of North Olmsted, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, hereinafter <br />referred to as the MIJNICIl'ALITY in the matter of the hereinafter described <br />improvement and requests the cooperation of the County of Cuyahoga by its Board of <br />County Commissioners hereinafter referred to as the COiJNTY." The ordinance requests <br />the city's cooperation in a joint venture with the County for the repaving of Porter Road <br />from where it meets Lorain Road north to the city border with the City of Westlake. The <br />project would be an 80/20 project; the City of North Olmsted would contribute 20% of <br />the funding. North Olmsted's share is projected to be $51,600, and the project is <br />scheduled for 2001. There will be a grind-out of the street and a repaving. After <br />discussion and explanation by Mr. Bohlmann, the committee unanimously recommended <br />approval of Ordinance 2000-134. <br />Mr. Nashar, chairperson of the Building, Zoning and Development Committee: 1) The <br />committee met on November 2. Present were committee members O'Grady, Gareau, <br />Nashar; Council members Miller, McKay; City Engineer Deichmann; Assistant Building <br />Commissioner Rymarczyk. Agenda items were as follows: <br />• Econo Lodge, Cleveland Airport west, located at 22989 Lorain Road. Representing <br />Econo Lodge was Jay Shah and Mr. Petroski. This is a proposal to construct a new <br />building to house an indoor swimming pool. The base of the building will have a 2 <br />foot base of brick from the ground up, and the balance of the building will be an EFIS <br />material. The brick on the new building will match the existing brick on the hotel <br />building. It was recommended that another parking plan be submitted that would <br />accommodate the required parking spaces for the revised location. The committee <br />unanimously recommended approval subject to the recommendations of the various <br />boards and commissions. Mr. Nashar moved to approve the proposal for Econo <br />Lodge located at 22989 Lorain Road subject to all the recommendations of the <br />boards, commissions and committee. The motion was seconded by Mr. Gareau and <br />unanimously approved. <br />• Bennigan's Restaurant Bar and Grill to be located at 4824 Great Northern Boulevard. <br />The proposal is to construct a new building located on the northeast corner of the <br />4 <br />
