Council Minutes of 10/17/2000 <br />7 Resolution No. 2000-1.41 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilwoman <br />~,„. Kasler. A resolution re-authorizing a Citizens Committee created by Resolution <br />No. 98-96 for the purpose of gathering and presenting to Council projects for the city's <br />Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />Resolution No. 2000-142 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />O'Grady. A resolution encouraging Congress to pass House Bills 3883 and 3377, which <br />would require labeling of genetically engineered foods and that the Federal Food and <br />Drug Administration (FDA) obtain information from manufacturers of genetically <br />engineered foods relating to the safety of such foods, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-144 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. <br />An ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Senior Workers' <br />Action Program/Senior Community Service Employment Program with the City of North <br />Olmsted acting as host agency, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-145 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. <br />An ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Senior Workers' <br />Action Program/Senior Community Service Employment Program wherein said Senior <br />Workers' Action Program/Senior Community Employment Program shall act as a host <br />agency in partnership with North Olmsted City Schools, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2000-143 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. <br />An ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 3 1, 2000. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />President Saringer made the following committee assignments: Ordinance 2000-134 to <br />Streets & Drainage; Resolution 2000-135 to Environmental Control; Resolution <br />2000-136 to Public Safety; Ordinances 2000-137, 2000-138 and 2000-143 to Finance; <br />Resolutions 2000-141, 2000-142 and Ordinances 2000-144 and 2000-145 to Legislative; <br />Ordinance 2000-140 to BZD. <br />Mr. McKay scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for Tuesday, October 24, at 6 p.m. <br />The Finance Director and Service Director are asked to attend. <br />Mr. O'Grady scheduled a Public Safety Committee meeting immediately following the <br />Finance Committee on October 24 to discuss .Resolution 2000-136. The Mayor and <br />directors of Public Service and Safety are asked to attend. <br />Mr. O'Grady scheduled an Environmental Control meeting immediately following the <br />Public Safety Committee to discuss Resolution 2000-135.
