Council Minutes of 7/18/2000
• Fairview Corporate Center lot split. This proposal is to split at the North
v.,~ Olmsted/Fairview Corporate line P. P. Nos. 237-23-023, 025, 037, 041 and 049, land
located between Brookpark Road (north side) and I-480 (south side) and extending
eastward from Claque Road into the Fairview line. The zoning within North Olmsted
is Multiple Residence. This will be conditioned upon Council's acceptance and that
the deed restrictions would be placed on the city and deeded back to the corporation.
This will include sidewalks on Brookpark Road and buffering at the parking lot plus
additional landscaping. The committee recommended approval subject to all the
boards and commissions. Mr. Nashar moved that the Fairview Corporate lot split be
approved subject to all the recommendations of the boards and commissions. The
motion was seconded by Mr. O'Grady and unanimously approved. (At the time of the
vote, Mr. Gareau was absent from his seat. Upon his return, he asked that his vote be
recorded as a "yes. ")
• Dr. Stephen Musser, 25043 Lorain Road, a proposal to convert a single family home
into a medical office use. There is room up front for parking and, due to some of the
requirements by Dr. Musser, parking will be in the front portion of the building so
that the residential area behind him will not be affected. This area is on Lorain Road
close to Columbia, and the additional landscaping up front will be with trees and
shrubbery along the Lorain Road frontage. The committee made a recommendation
that Dr. Musser contact the City Forester to inquire about additional trees being
planted along the front. The committee hopes to make that area more aesthetically
pleasing by adding trees at that particular location. The committee recommended
approval subject to all recommendations of the boards and commissions. Mr. Nashar
moved that Council approve Dr. Musser's location at 25043 Lorain Road subject to
all the recommendations of the boards and commissions. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Gareau and unanimously passed.
2) A BZD meeting was held this evening and the following items were discussed:
• Ordinance 2000-81. The change to this ordinance will be in Section 1136.04. "For
purposes of this Chapter, recreation facilities shall include golf courses, which may
include thereupon clubhouses, administrative office buildings and golf museums or
golf halls of fame; provided, however, that no such building located on a golf course
shall have a first floor area which exceeds 3,500 square feet or the height which
exceeds 30 feet, and further provided that no such buildings on a golf course shall be
located within 75 linear feet of any residential structure or 40 linear feet of any lot
line; and further provided that such buildings on golf course may share common
parking areas with other buildings located on the golf course so long as the parking
requirements for all such buildings as provided for in Chapter 1161 are met." This
ordinance is on second reading tonight, and once it. has been through the Planning
Commission and a public hearing is held, this will once again come back to the BZD
Committee for recommended approval.
• Moen Corporation, a proposal to add an additional 256 parking spaces at the location
of the Moen Drive headquarters. In the future, they will be adding another office
building. Present for this meeting were committee members Gareau, O'Grady and
Nashar; Councilmen Miller and McKay; Building Commissioner Conway.
