Council Minutes of 3/21/2000 • Resolution 2000-20, which is necessary because the present contract to remove the sludge from the WWTP expires on June 30, 2000. The cost is expected to be between $80,000 to $120,000. The committee recommended approval. • Review of the appropriations, Ordinance 2000-27. Discussion of the following departments: Council, no adjustments; Mayor's office, one adjustment; Data Processing, not complete due to lack of information; Finance Department, no adjustments, Law Department, no adjustments; Department of Personnel, adjustments made to the director's salary from a 5% increase to a 4% increase by a vote of Council members 4 yeas and 2 nays; Department of Public Safety, director's salary was reduced from a 5% increase to a 3% increase. The Safety Director's increase is controlled by ordinance. 3) The Finance Committee met again on Thursday, March 16. Present were Council members Limpert, O'Grady, McKay, Nashar, Gareau, Kasler; Mayor Musial; Human Resources Director Don Copeland; Finance Director Carrie Copfer; Clerk of Commissions Donna Rote and Landmarks Commission member Paul Barker. Items reviewed were: • The Human Resources Department and the Division of Aging. Corrections were made to the Community Diversion Fund, page 19, line 951. Their organizational line item was increased from $1,000 to $1,500. The previous appropriations and the Division of Aging were approved. • The general administration and boards and commissions. Landmarks member Paul Barker presented the projected activities of the Landmarks Commission for the year 2000, requested increase of line item 370 on page 9 from $1,600 to $3,600. The request was approved by Council. On page 10, line 405, shared income tax with the schools was increased from $110,000 to $117,000 due to the school's share of the tax abatement. The general administration and boards and commission was then approved. 4) The Finance Committee met on Saturday, March 18. In attendance were all Councilmen-at-Large and all Ward Councilmen; Service Director Bohlmann; Finance Director Copfer; WWTP superintendent Robert Nichols, WWTP assistant superintendent Barry Boehnlein and Environmental Engineer Dennis Long; North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line General Manager Tom Terbrack. Items discussed were: • The Department of Public Service was approved. • The Division of Engineering was held in committee for their explanation of the page 81ine item 294 equipment purchase. • The Division of General Service page 9 line item 356, service garage operation was held for additional information. • Public Works was approved. • Fleet Management was approved. • Division of WWTP was approved. ,,~. • NOMBL was approved.
