Council Minutes 3/6/2001 <br />~,,, SPECIAL LEGISLATION <br />a~ President Saringer announced that Resolutions 2001-27, 2001-28, 2001-29 and 2001-30 <br />to honor four Eagle Scouts would be passed under suspension of the rules. Councilman <br />Miller made a motion to suspend the rules requiring three readings and committee review <br />on Resolutions 2001-27, 2001-28, 2001-29 and 2001-30. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman O'Grady and unanimously approved. On behalf of the entire Council and <br />the Mayor, Councilman Limpert introduced and placed on first reading Resolutions <br />2001-27, 2001-28, 2001-29 and 2001-30. <br />Resolution No. 2001-27, a resolution commending the achievement by Michael A. Kort <br />of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. President Saringer read the resolution in its <br />entirety. Councilman Limpert moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2001-27 adopted. Michael <br />came forward to receive his resolution and was congratulated by City Council and <br />members of the administration. <br />Resolution No. 2001-28, a resolution commending the achievement by Thomas A. Bolda <br />of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. President Saringer read the resolution in its <br />entirety. Councilwoman Kasler moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2001-28 adopted. Thomas <br />came forward to receive his resolution and was congratulated by City Council and <br />members of the administration. <br />Resolution No. 2001-29, a resolution commending the achievement by Matthew J. Myers <br />of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. President Saringer read the resolution in its <br />entirety. Councilman McKay moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2041-29 adopted. Matthew <br />came forward to receive his resolution and was congratulated by City Council and <br />members of the administration. <br />Resolution No. 2001-30, a resolution commending the achievement by Daniel J. Starek <br />of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. President Saringer read the resolution in its <br />entirety. Councilman Nashar moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman O'Grady and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2001-30 adopted. Daniel <br />came forward to receive his resolution and was congratulated by City Council and <br />members of the administration. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Musial: 1) This evening he is introducing Ordinance No. 2001-22, which is the <br />city's budget for 2001. He noted that it is planned to hire three new firefighters this year <br />and to purchase a new fire engine on a three-year installment basis at approximately <br />$100,000 a year. With regards to the Police Department, two dispatchers will be hired, a <br />student resource officer for the middle school will be added and we will establish a <br />bicycle patrol, which encompasses seven policemen and four bicycles using existing <br />personnel.
