Council Minutes 3/6/2001 ~,,, SPECIAL LEGISLATION a~ President Saringer announced that Resolutions 2001-27, 2001-28, 2001-29 and 2001-30 to honor four Eagle Scouts would be passed under suspension of the rules. Councilman Miller made a motion to suspend the rules requiring three readings and committee review on Resolutions 2001-27, 2001-28, 2001-29 and 2001-30. The motion was seconded by Councilman O'Grady and unanimously approved. On behalf of the entire Council and the Mayor, Councilman Limpert introduced and placed on first reading Resolutions 2001-27, 2001-28, 2001-29 and 2001-30. Resolution No. 2001-27, a resolution commending the achievement by Michael A. Kort of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. President Saringer read the resolution in its entirety. Councilman Limpert moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2001-27 adopted. Michael came forward to receive his resolution and was congratulated by City Council and members of the administration. Resolution No. 2001-28, a resolution commending the achievement by Thomas A. Bolda of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. President Saringer read the resolution in its entirety. Councilwoman Kasler moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2001-28 adopted. Thomas came forward to receive his resolution and was congratulated by City Council and members of the administration. Resolution No. 2001-29, a resolution commending the achievement by Matthew J. Myers of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. President Saringer read the resolution in its entirety. Councilman McKay moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2041-29 adopted. Matthew came forward to receive his resolution and was congratulated by City Council and members of the administration. Resolution No. 2001-30, a resolution commending the achievement by Daniel J. Starek of the Eagle Scout Award in Boy Scouting. President Saringer read the resolution in its entirety. Councilman Nashar moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman O'Grady and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2001-30 adopted. Daniel came forward to receive his resolution and was congratulated by City Council and members of the administration. REPORTS Mayor Musial: 1) This evening he is introducing Ordinance No. 2001-22, which is the city's budget for 2001. He noted that it is planned to hire three new firefighters this year and to purchase a new fire engine on a three-year installment basis at approximately $100,000 a year. With regards to the Police Department, two dispatchers will be hired, a student resource officer for the middle school will be added and we will establish a bicycle patrol, which encompasses seven policemen and four bicycles using existing personnel.
