Council Minutes of 1/16/01 <br />Road and north Columbia Road storm sewers. Councilman McKay requested that an <br />::k. <br />~N, additional $600,000 be included for the south Canterbury Road engineering and <br />construction. This would bring the total of that category to $2,620,000. That amount <br />together with the $250,000 requested for the North Olmsted Park brings the grand total to <br />$2,870,000. The Long-Range Planning Committee is requested to meet for a discussion <br />of the Canterbury Road plan so that Council can see the scope of the project. Council members gave <br />their opinions as to which plan they preferred. Mr. Barker made comments on behalf of <br />the Landmarks Commission. <br />Mr. Miller, member of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long-Range <br />Planning Committee reported on behalf of chairperson Kasler: 1) The Intra- <br />Governmental Relations and Legislation; Long-Range Planning Committee met this <br />evening to discuss Ordinance 2000-117 (cell phone ordinance). In attendance were <br />committee members Nashar and Miller; Council members Gareau, O'Grady, Limpert, <br />McKay and Saringer; Safety Director Jenkins; Rick Ellis from AT&T and Denis Dunn <br />from Ameritech. Mr. Nashaz noted that the legislation had been amended to make the <br />infraction a secondary offense. Also, there will be a 90 day warning period, after which <br />there will be a 12 month sunset clause. The issue of fines was discussed. There was a <br />question as to whether or not the fine could be paid directly at the Police Station. The <br />Law Department has determined that this is not a possibility.
