In that manner, the city can collect a larger percentage figure <br />for transportation of residents and other people in our ambulance services. It will not <br />penalize a resident in any way, but in fact increases the revenue to the city under this <br />new, revised ordinance. The committee unanimously recommended approval of <br />Ordinance 2002-154. <br />^ Ordinance 2002-148, which is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a <br />contract with the Cuyahoga County General Health District far the year 2003. This is <br />a boiler-plate annual resolution to approve the agreement between the city and the <br />county for any services that they can provide to us. The committee unanimously <br />recommended approval. <br />2) The Public Safety Committee met this evening to discuss two liquor permits: <br />A new permit for Chipotle Mexican Grill which will be located at 26777 Lorain <br />Road. It is a new liquor permit, and the Police Department had no objections. The <br />committee recommended no objection. Mrs. Kasler moved that Council not object to <br />the liquor permit for Chipotle Mexican Crrill at 26777 Lorain Road. The motion was <br />seconded by Mr. Nashar and unanimously approved. <br />A stock transfer between two individuals at 4864 Dover Center, at the Convenient <br />Food Mart, which is not in business but is doing some reorganizing. The Police <br />Department had no objections, and the committee recommended no objection. Mrs. <br />Kasler moved that Council have no objection to the stock transfer for the liquor <br />permit at 4864 Dover Center Road. The motion was seconded by Mr. Gareau and <br />passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Miller noted that he had used the new Park-N-Ride facility and, although it <br />is not completed, it is already very popular. On the first day, there were approximately <br />125 cars and it has increased each day. There are some growing pains, and he has asked <br />the Public Safety Committee to took into the issue of a left turn arrow to be installed for <br />southbound traffic at that location, and the issue as to whether or not RTA has completed <br />or plans to complete their promises as to barrier walls and landscaping. Also, there has <br />been some crowding and people have had to stand on buses leaving downtown. <br />Hopefully, we will be able to make the necessary adjustments so that all riders can be <br />seated. Mrs. Kasler noted that the Service Director had been asked to look into the <br />timing of the light as cars come off of I-480 which is right across from the Park-N-Ride <br />entrance. Mr. Miller agreed and also noted that the length of the turn lane heading <br />southbound should also be extended. He does not believe they took into consideration <br />the length of buses that would use that lane. As currerrtly configured, it will cause traffic <br />to be blocking the through lane. <br />Councilman Miller, chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation; <br />Long-Range Planning Committee: 1) The committee met on October 22 to interview <br />candidates for two boards and commission appointments. <br />^ Norman Baxter for a position with the Recreation Commission to complete the term <br />of Sandra Sorge which will end on December 31, 2005.
