Council Minutes of 8/6/2002 <br />~~„~ Ordinance No. 2002-108 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. <br />~,,, An ordinance establishing the compensation and benefits to be paid to all part-time <br />hourly employees employed by the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2002-110 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Gareau. An ordinance establishing the "Director of Planning" position salary range as a <br />full-time position, and otherwise re-establishing the rates of compensation for various <br />administrative and legislative personnel and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution No. 2002-111 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. <br />A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to solicit bids for the purchase of <br />cell phones and cell phone service per specifications on file in his office, and authorizing <br />the Mayor to enter into a contract for said purchase subject to approval by the Board of <br />Control, if necessary, and declaring an emergency. <br />~. <br />Resolution No. 2002-112 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. <br />A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to solicit bids for the purchase and <br />installation of new bleachers for the indoor pool area at the Recreation Complex per <br />specifications on file in her office, and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for <br />said purchase and installation subject to approval by the Board of Control, and declaring <br />an emergency. <br />Resolution No. 2002-113 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. <br />A resolution authorizing the North Olmsted Chief of Police to file an application for the <br />FY 2002-2003 Dnzg Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Law Enforcement Grant <br />funded through the State of Ohio D.A.R.E. Grants Program, and declaring an emergency. <br />Mayor Musial noted that this ordinance will provide matching funds to defray the cost of <br />the D.A.R.E. salary up to 50%, and there is an August 6, 2002 deadline. Councilman <br />Miller moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2002-113 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2002-114 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. <br />An ordinance approving the plan of operation and governance for the NOPEC Gas <br />Aggregation Program for the purpose of jointly establishing and implementing a gas <br />aggregation program, and declaring an emergency. Mayor Musial said this is an <br />ordinance that will enable the City of North Olmsted to participate in the natural gas <br />aggregation program. The object of the program is to potentially enable consumers in <br />North Olmsted to receive their natural gas at a lower price. Councilman Gareau moved <br />for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously.
