Council Minutes of 6/18/2002 <br />contractor, these companies would now be charged for the cost that the city incurs. <br />The committee recommended approval. <br />^ Ordinance 2002-92, an ordinance authorizing an expenditure of sewer revenue funds <br />in an amount not to exceed $75,000 to compensate Rennie Homes Incorporated for <br />constructing an oversized sanitary sewer for the Willow Woods subdivision so to <br />enable the city to provide sanitary sewer service to the JEDD area within the Olmsted <br />Falls service area. In order for the city to plan for future development, a request was <br />made for Rennie Homes to construct a 12 inch sewer instead of an 8 inch sewer. This <br />is for the Willow Woods subdivision and also to service the JEDD area in Olmsted <br />Township in the future. After thorough investigation and discussion, the committee <br />recommended approval of the $67,300 difference in cost. <br />Councilman Nashar, chairperson of the Building, Zoning and Development Committee: <br />1) The committee met on June 17 and June I8. Present were committee members <br />Gareau, McKay and Nashar; Councilman Limpert, l~ller, President of Council O'Grady; <br />City Engineer Deichmann, Building Commissioner Conway, Law Director Dubelko. <br />Agenda items were as follows: <br />A building for WideOpenWest to be located at 23525 Lorain Road. Representing <br />WideOpenWest was Mr. George Duffy and Mr. Dave Turbavich. This is a proposal <br />to install a small building to house fiber optic networks, digital cable TV, high speed <br />Internet and broad-band phone service. The building will be 12 foot wide, 21 foot <br />long, 9 foot high. This will all be a pre-cast building. All wiring coming into this <br />building will be underground with no aerial, antennas or dish mounted on the top. <br />This will be an unmanned facility with no plumbing or waste. On the outside of the <br />building, at ground level, there will be two 3 ton air-conditioners. At the June 17 <br />meeting, the BZD Carnmttee recommended that landscaping should. be included. <br />The committee met this evening to discuss landscaping. WideOpenWest presented a <br />proposal to include six flowering crab trees with a 4 foot hardwood mulch bed around <br />the building. In addition to that, the committee asked for no more than 10 concrete <br />posts around the building in lieu of the 8 foot fence which was originally proposed. <br />Councilman Nashar moved that Council approve the building for WideOpenWest at <br />23525 Lorain Road subject to the recommendations of the various boards and <br />commissions. The motion was seconded by Councilman McKay and passed <br />unanimously. <br />Ordinance 99-126 which creates a new Chapter 177 of the city Administrative Code <br />entitled Department of Planning in order to establish a Department of Planning for the <br />City of North Olmsted and to create a position for the Director of Planning and <br />declaring an emergency. On June 17, the committee recommended that a companion <br />ordinance be introduced to show a salary range. The legislation will be on second <br />reading this evening and will then be held until the companion ordinance is <br />introduced. <br />Ordinances 99-77 and 99-79, pertaining to lighting, are being held for review at the <br />request of the Law Director. <br /> <br />7 <br />
