Council Minutes of 5/21/2002 <br />• One of the capital improvements inside the Rec Center, the replacement of the <br />grandstands at the indoor pool, will soon be done. The stands have been a safety <br />problem for some time and this is just part of the on-going effort to address safety <br />issues. <br />• Mr. Morgan reported that the Rec Center has a new pizza oven and popcorn maker, <br />making for some very happy customers. <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br />Bob Hughes, 18705 Rockland, Cleveland, Ohio, has been a volunteer for various <br />organizations for 20 years. He is attempting to help North Olmsted and other <br />communities to raise revenues and is trying to enlist the support of food stores. He asked <br />that citizens take the time to write to food suppliers and to members of Congress. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 2002-56 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Mayor to receive proposals and to enter into an agreement for <br />designing influent control gates at the Dover and LeBern Pump Stations; and declaring an <br />emergency. Councilman Gareau moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2002-56 adopted. <br />~ Ordinance No. 2002-57 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its third reading. An <br />,. ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to enter into an agreement <br />with Medical Mutual of Ohio to provide third-party administrator services, and a stop <br />loss insurance policy, to the city in connection with the city's self-insured health care <br />program for city employees, and declaring an emergency. Councilman McKay moved <br />for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 2002-57 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2002-59 introduced by Councilwoman Kasler was given its third reading. <br />An ordinance providing a method for determining the salary ranges for non-bargaining <br />unit secretary positions by reference to comparable bargaining unit positions, and <br />otherwise re-establishing the rates of compensation for various administrative and <br />legislative personnel and declaring an emergency as amended. Councilwoman Kasler <br />moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman McKay and passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 2002-59 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 99-77 introduced by Councilman Gareau was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance creating new and revised Section 1126.02, 1161.12 and 1161.121 of the <br />North Olmsted Zoning Code relating to commercial lighting structures. <br />Ordinance No. 99-79 introduced by Councilman Gareau was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance creating Chapter 556 of the General Offenses Code of the City of North <br />Olmsted, entitled "Lighting Nuisance Control," and declaring an emergency. <br />9 <br /> <br />
