Council Minutes of 4/2/2442 <br />storm, sidewalks, aprons, etc. at a cast of $175,000; Dover/Driscoll traffic light, <br />$135,000; water main projects, $285,000; Clague and Lorain Road contingency of <br />$75,000. The total is $820,000, and the committee is awaiting more information to <br />complete the capital improvements projects. <br />Councilman Nashar, chairperson of the Building, Zoning and Developmern Committee: <br />1) This evening, the BZD Committee met. Presem were committee members McKay, <br />Gareau and Nashar; Councilman Limpert, President of Council O'Grady; City Engineer <br />Deichmann. The committee discussed Ruby Tuesday's, 26670 Lorain Road, a proposal <br />to construct a new restaurant which is presently located at the old Elias Brothers <br />restaurant on Lorain Road which is going to be demolished. The construction of the new <br />Ruby Tuesday's will consist of 5,300 square feet. The committee recommended saving <br />the trees that are currently at the front of the site. The parking will be at 109 spaces, plus <br />there will be 10 spaces that will be landbanked. The entrance to the building will be on <br />the west side off of Lorain Road, and there will be an emergency each on the east side of <br />the building. The entire building will be trimmed in painted wood. The canopy on the <br />building will be red with a vanilla striping. The building itself will be mustard green and <br />red in color. The BZD Committee recommended that additional pillars be mounted on <br />the side of the building to be in conformance to match the entire building around it. The <br />retention system will have a three inch opening to reduce any flooding problems that <br />might occur in that particular area, particularly across the street at St. Richard's. This <br />evening, the committee discussed the retention system and easement pertaining to the <br />building adjacent to this site. They were granted an easement to tap into their storm <br />sewer to avoid flooding. This has been agreed to by the City Engineer. With that in <br />mind, the committee recommended approval subject to all the boards and commissions of <br />the city. Councilman Nashar moved for approval subject to aU the recommendations of <br />the boards and commissions and the City Engineer's recommendations; second by <br />Councilman McKay. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Limpert, chairperson of the Environmental Control Committee: 1} The <br />Environmental Committee met March 27 to discuss 2002-35, a resolution to declare April <br />26, 2002 the day to celebrate Arbor Day in North Olmsted and acknowledging the award <br />of Tree City USA for the 17'~ year in a row. Present were the three committee members <br />Dailey, Kesler and Limpert as well as the rest of Council. The committee approved <br />unanimously and recommended passage under suspension of the rule. <br />Councilwoman Kesler, chairperson of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee: <br />1) The committee met on March 27. Present were committee members Miller, Nashar <br />and Kesler, other members of Council, Safety Director and the Mayor and guests. The <br />following items were discussed: <br />• A request for an additional 5 sick days for police officer Jennifer Hayner who was <br />injured while attempting to make a simulated arrest during training exercise. She has <br />had sick time and also then returned to light duty, underwent knee surgery anti <br />necessarily used 95 days sink days, 5 days in excess of the contract. The 5 extra days <br />requires approval of Council. Mrs. Kesler moved that Council approve the additional <br />6 <br />~~ ....~ ., ,r <br />
