Council Minutes 6/I7/2003
~; discount on most items at the pro shop. Concerns with the current program have
'° arisen including overuse by some people and the failure of the particular program to
include a definition of family. The committee is exploring whether the discount
program should be continued given the current financial condition of the city and
particularly the problems at the Rec Center with maintenance.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Charles Dial, 27959 Gardenia.
^ Listened with interest to Mayor's rebuttal to Amy Cornish. Would like him to a-mail
a copy and RecallMusial.com will post it-only fair that his remarks get equal billing.
He is surprised Mayor overlooked what he considers strongest point of all, and that is
he believes every month there is a backup made of the entire server that is saved on
tape. The Mayor should just produce the tapes to determine whether any files were
deleted. Mayor Musial said he would look into it. Law Director Dubelko said he had
made a recommendation to Amy to take it to the police if she believed there might
have been some criminal wrongdoing. She did that. The police investigated it and
have reported out no criminal wrongdoing. As far as he is concerned, it is a dead
issue with respect to any allegations of criminal wrongdoing. Whether there are other
issues as far as city administrative practices, etc., that is something Council can look
into if they wish and the Mayor can address. His concern was that there might have
been a crime committed and it wasn't being handled or publicly addressed. As a city,
it was publicly addressed and he is satisfied. Mrs. Kasler asked the Mayor if he had a
report from the consultant he had hired. Mayor Musial said he thought so. The
situation was they had difficulties with Ms. Creadon's computer being entered into.
A computer specialist was invited to come in, and he said someone installed PC
Anywhere. He said the program would allow anyone who has the password to enter
the computer when turned on. Ms. Creadon kept her computer on all the time, so it
could be entered any time. She was advised to pull the plug when she went home,
which she did. Mrs. Kasler said she assumed the consultant's report was a public
record and asked to see a copy, which the Mayor agreed to.
John Davis, 5862 Barton Road.
^ On May 20, when he spoke about sidewalks on Bradley Road, he was told he would
get a response from the Mayor in approximately two weeks about a starting and
completion date. He has not heard anything. Mayor Musial said he was still working
on it and asked the City Engineer to come forward with a report.
City Engineer Durbin:
^ An estimate of sidewalks on either side has been made. On the northwest side
(Bradley/Oak Estates side), there are 13 parcels, 12 owners. Of the 13 parcels,
Metroparks has 2, about 500 feet. The cost of the sidewalk on the city side without
the Metroparks would cost approximately $17,500. The tree removal would cost
another $10,000. These costs were derived from the Fabrizi pavement repair
contract. It could be done by change order, which would take legislative action.
13
