Council Minutes of 12-21-2004 <br />every bus route they promote takes people downtown. You cannot go from suburb to <br />suburb. <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane, said that Mr. Herbster did not understand his <br />comments. He is concerned that the public get the "best bang for its buck" and that there <br />not be duplication of services so citizens pay twice. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 2004-182 introduced by Councilwoman Kasler was given its third <br />reading. A resolution directing the Auditor of Cuyahoga County to pay to the City of <br />North Olmsted, Ohio, during the year 2005, all money due and owing said city from any <br />collection source. Councilwoman Kasler moved for adoption. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2004-182 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2004-1$5 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance amending Sections 143.01 and 153.01 of the Administrative Code for the <br />purpose of assigning the part-time duties of Civil Service Commission secretary to the <br />full-time clerical staff of the Director of Personnel and Administrative Services. <br />Councilman Gareau moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Limpert and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2004-185 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2004-164 introduced by Councilwoman Kasler on behalf of Mayor Musial <br />was given its second reading. An ordinance establishing the range of compensation rates <br />and salary ranges for the various administrative and legislative personnel for the years <br />2005, 2006 and 2007, and also amending Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 22 and 23 relating to <br />compensation and benefits for said personnel, and declaring an emergency, as twice <br />amended. Councilwoman Kasler moved for suspension of the rule requiring three <br />readings and noted the legislation had been heard in committee. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Gareau. Roll call: Kasler, yes; Gareau, yes; McKay, no; <br />Limpert, no; Miller, yes; Nashar, yes; Dailey, yes. The motion passed with five yes votes <br />and two no votes. Councilwoman Kasler moved for adoption, and the motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Gareau. Roll call: Kasler, yes; Gareau, yes; McKay, no; <br />Dailey, yes; Miller, yes; Limpert, no; Nashar, yes, with comment that he was voting yes <br />but wanted the record to reflect that he had voted no on the amendment to Section 23. <br />The motion passed with five yes votes and two no votes. Ordinance No. 2004-164 <br />adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2004-179 introduced by Mayor Musial was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into aone-year contract with Lexis-Nexis, a <br />division of Reed Elsevier Inc., for the purpose of providing Internet-based legal research <br />services to the Police Department. Councilman Miller moved for suspension of the rule <br />requiring three readings and remarked that the legislation had been reported out of <br />committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Miller moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Gareau and passed unanimously.
