Council Minutes of 9/21/2004 <br />and Miller; Council members Gareau and Nashar; Law Director Dubelko, Human <br />Resources Director Copeland, Safety Director Jesse, Planning Director Wenger, Senior <br />Center Administrator Jackie Chavez Anderson and Mr. Paul Barker, chairman of the <br />Community Development Block Grant Citizen Advisory Committee. The following <br />legislation was discussed: <br />^ Resolution 2004-143, authorizing the Director of Planning to apply for Community <br />Development Block Grant funds for parking improvements in North Olmsted Park. <br />We have difficulty having enough spaces, particularly in the upper part near the <br />Senior Center, and this would increase that capacity. Director Wenger explained this <br />request rather extensively to the committee, and the committee approved <br />unanimously. <br />^ Resolution 2004-144, authorizing the Director of Planning to apply for Community <br />Development Block Grant funds for an exterior maintenance program. Directors <br />Wenger and Copeland explained the grant. Mr. Miller had several questions <br />regarding the procedure, and Mr. Copeland answered the questions. The committee <br />approved unanimously. (Mr. Limpert expressed thanks to Mr. Paul Barker, chair of <br />the Citizen Advisory Committee, for all the hard work he did in helping to put this <br />together. He asked Mr. Barker to stand and be recognized.) <br />2) Another committee meeting was held tonight to interview prospective members of the <br />Cultural Activities Commission. Present were committee members Limpert, Kasler and <br />Miller and Councilman Nashar. The committee interviewed Mrs. Barbara Brown and <br />Mr. Gerald Yustick. Both individuals have already attended a meeting or two of this <br />commission. It was great to see such interested individuals willing to be active in our <br />community. They expressed interest in trying to put together an arts festival. The <br />committee unanimously recommended approval of Mrs. Brown and Mr. Yustick to the <br />Cultural Activities Commission. Councilman Limpert made a motion to appoint Barbara <br />Brown and Gerald Yustick to the Cultural Activities Commission. (Term to end on <br />December 31, 2004.) The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and passed <br />unanimously. <br />3) On September 13, the committee met to interview Mr. Timothy LJlewicz to serve on <br />the Architectural Review Board. He is very well qualified and very interested in serving <br />on this board. The committee approved unanimously. Councilman Limpert made a <br />motion to appoint Timothy Ulewicz to the Architectural Review Board. (Term to end <br />December 31, 2005.) The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kasler and passed <br />unanimously. <br />Councilwoman Kasler, chairperson of the Finance Committee: 1) The committee met on <br />September 14. Present were members Kasler, Gareau and Limpert; Council members <br />Dailey, Miller, Nashar, President O'Grady; directors of Finance, Safety, Human <br />Resources, Law, Service, and Planning; the administrator of the Senior Center and the <br />City Engineer. The following items were discussed: <br />^ Ordinance 2004-137, a transfer ordinance.
