Council Minutes of 6/1/2004
. compensation rate ranges for vazious administrative and legislative personnel for the
years 2004 and 2005, and declaring an emergency, as amended. Councilwoman Kasler
moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings and noted the legislation had
been discussed in committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and
passed unanimously. Councilwoman Kasler moved for adoption, and the motion was
seconded by Councilman Limpert. Roll call: Kesler, yes with comment that she would
like to commend Mr. Copeland for the work that he's done on this. The city is losing
what he has termed, and also from her observation, a very valuable administrator. He has
replaced that person already with some existing proven talent. Also, he is bringing in
new talent for the Program Activities Coordinator. The best news is that there is no
additional cost. Roll call continued: Limpert, yes with comment that, although there is
adjustment in the pay ranges, he would like to note that it is not a reduction to any sitting
person in their current position. Roll call cominued: Nashaz, yes; McKay, yes; Gareau,
yes with comment that we are losing a North Olmsted resident who served in that
capacity, but the person who is taking over is a life-long North Olmsted resident. It's
nice to see local people who stay in the community and get involved. She is an excellent
candidate for the spot. Roll call continued: Dailey, yes. The motion passed
unanimously. Ordinance No. 2004-94 adopted.
Ordinance No. 2004-97 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An
ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other
expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the yeaz ending December 31, 2004.
Ordinance No. 2004-99 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Musial. An
ordinance authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the
rehabilitation of the Low Pressure Oxidation Building No. 1 (LPO1) roof and authorizing
the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the lowest and best bidder as determined by
the Board of Control, and declaring an emergency. Mayor Musial noted this was
discussed during the appropriations process. It is a situation where the roof is getting
tired, and it has to be replaced. Councilman McKay moved for suspension of the rules
requiring three readings and committee review. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Councilman McKay moved for adoption.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously.
