Council Minutes of 12/20/2005 <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 2005-163 introduced by Councilman Miller on behalf of Mayor O'Grady <br />was given its third reading. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of five (5} new police cruisers for the North Olmsted <br />Police Department, as per specifications on file in his office, and authorizing the Mayor, <br />subject to approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract for same with the <br />lowest and best bidder. Councilman Miller moved for adoption. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2005-163 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-168 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance providing for the issuance and sale of $500,000 of notes, in anticipation of the <br />issuance of bonds, for the purpose of improving Clague Road between certain termini, in <br />cooperation with Cuyahoga County, by grading, draining, widening, constructing and <br />reconstructing the pavement base, driveway approaches and sidewalks, curbing, <br />preparing the surface, surfacing and providing storm water drainage improvements, in <br />each case together with the necessary appurtenances and work incidental thereto. <br />Councilman Tallon moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Barker and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2005-168 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-164 by Mayor O'Grady on behalf of himself and Councilman Ryan <br />was given its second reading. An ordinance amending Section 167.04 of Chapter 167 <br />(Department of Human Resources) of the Administrative Code for the purpose of <br />modifying and updating the powers and duties of the Director of Human Resources as <br />amended. Councilman Ryan moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. Councilman <br />Ryan moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 2005-164 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-170 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the <br />City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2006 as amended. Councilman <br />Gareau moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Councilman Gareau moved <br />for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tallon and passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-170 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-171 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance moving the Division of Springvale Golf Course from the Department of <br />Public Safety to the Department of Community Life Services, and clarifying the <br />organizational chart for the division as amended. Councilman Ryan moved for <br />suspension of the rule requiring three readings. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously.
