Council Minutes of 12/6/2005 <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane, complimented city employee Shaun Solomon for his <br />helpful attitude as he was helpful in taking care of some issues. He is an example of a <br />good public servant. He commends the Mayor and Service Director for the snow <br />removal in the city, especially on Butternut Ridge where he often walks. <br />Charles Dial, 27959 Gardenia, said a friend who is an electrical supplier estimated the <br />cost for the ballasts and fixtures at the Rec Center to be about $100-$150. He is <br />concerned that the people making the decisions in the city are not getting accurate <br />information. There is another problem at the Rec Center since the boiler was replaced in <br />that there is alternating hot and cold water in the showers. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 2005-95 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance amending various sections of Chapter 1138 (Senior Residence District) of the <br />North Olmsted Zoning Code in order to clarify and update development regulations for <br />the Senior Residence District as amended. <br />Resolution No. 2005-162 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with the Cuyahoga County <br />General Health District for the year 2006, and declaring an emergency. Councilman <br />Miller moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings and remarked that the <br />legislation had been reviewed by committee and reported out. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. Councilman Miller moved for <br />adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Nashar. Roll call: Miller, yes, with <br />thanks to the County Board of Health representatives for their presentation. Roll call <br />continued: Nashar, yes; Ryan, yes; Tallon, yes; Orlowski, yes; Gareau, yes; Barker, yes. <br />The motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2005-162 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2005-163 introduced by Councilman Miller on behalf of Mayor O'Grady <br />was given its second reading. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to <br />advertise for bids for the purchase of five (5) new police cruisers for the North Olmsted <br />Police Department, as per specifications on file in his office, and authorizing the Mayor, <br />subject to approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract for same with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-168 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance providing for the issuance and sale of $500,000 of notes, in anticipation of <br />the issuance of bonds, for the purpose of improving Clague Road between certain <br />termini, in cooperation with Cuyahoga County, by grading, draining, widening, <br />constructing and reconstructing the pavement base, driveway approaches and sidewalks, <br />curbing, preparing the surface, surfacing and providing storm water drainage <br />improvements, in each case together with the necessary appurtenances and work <br />incidental thereto. <br /> <br />13 <br />_ ,~r <br />
