Council Minutes of 11!1/2005 <br />• Historic preservation-the administration and Landmarks Commission are <br />working to find options to preserve an 1830's historic home currently <br />located on the fire station No. 2 property. <br />Safety <br />• Director Limpert, along with representatives of police and fire, attended <br />all-day seminar put on by the Homeland Security Dept. regarding <br />shopping mall security. The event was well attended by municipalities <br />and private firms that do business in shopping centers. <br />• The Building Dept., with the advice of the Law Dept., is working closely <br />with the Magistrate Dept. of the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court <br />to get vacant and abandoned properties in the City of North Olmsted <br />identified. These can be expedited as we go through the foreclosure <br />system which is heavily backlogged. <br />• The Fire Dept. has two pieces of legislation before Council dealing with <br />the FEMA grant. <br />• The Police Dept. reported we had a very good Halloween with no <br />incidents or accidents. <br />Service <br />• Sandy Ridge concrete replacement program. Work is done on Sudbury <br />Drive, Bristol Lane, Fairfax Lane, Waterbury Circle and Darby Lane. The <br />police station sidewalk and step replacements are complete. All curb <br />ramps on Lorain are complete. The concrete pavement was placed on the <br />south side of Park Place and the intersection of Darby and Waterbury <br />Circle. Kingston Circle is currently being excavated. <br />• North Park Estates. Camellia Lane, Nandina Drive, Azalea Lane are <br />complete. The pavement on Gardenia is complete with the exception of <br />the east cul-de-sac which is being started this week. The north side of <br />Oring is being excavated. <br />• The asphalt program is complete with the exception of edge lines and the <br />dead-end of North Park and the sealing of curbs in the Senior Center <br />parking lot. <br />• The Senior Center ADA doors. We are waiting for documentation for a <br />final change order. The plans have been reviewed by the Building Dept., <br />and we have the expectation of 4-6 weeks for construction and delivery of <br />the doors. <br />Law Director Dubelko: 1) Closed the real estate transaction for the purchase of the land <br />for the new fire station on October 28. <br />2) October 20, attended the Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Avery good speech on <br />economic development was given by Planning Director Wenger. Met with HUD officials <br />and the Fair Housing Review Board regarding the city's progress of its fair housing <br />program. <br /> <br />3 <br />
