Councilman Tallon thanked Mr. Lambert for his comments and noted that it <br />was not his idea alone, both he and Mrs. Copfer had collaborated on the idea. <br />6) Joseph Bouman, 23950 Gessner Road, announced that Mr. Terry Groden, president of <br />Deerfield subdivision, has arranged an outdoor meeting to discuss solutions and things <br />that citizens can do to help solve the 30-40 year flooding problem that especially afflicts <br />Ward II. It will be held next Tuesday, October 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Clague Park off of <br />Clague Road. He read a quote made by Mayor O'Grady in the April 21, 2005 issue of <br />the Sun Herald: "We don't need more retail, but we need to bring in businesses with <br />higher wages and higher taxes such as Moen." North Olmsted is the retail center of <br />western Cuyahoga. We draw customers from as far as Mansfield on the weekend. We <br />need quality commercial people in North Olmsted, and Target is that and there are others. <br />He is for more quality retail. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 2005-129 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance granting a storm sewer easement located on property owned by the City of <br />North Olmsted, and designated as Permanent Parcel Number 231-32-005 by Cuyahoga <br />County Maps and Records, to the North Olmsted Assembly of God Church, said <br />easement shown on Exhibit "A." Councilman Gareau moved for adoption. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Nashar and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2005-129 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-133 introduced by Councilmen Nashar and Gareau was given its <br />third reading. An ordinance amending Section 1363.07 of Chapter 1363 of the Real <br />Property Maintenance Code, entitled "Duties and Responsibilities of Owners and <br />Operators," in order to permit residents to store trash containers in side yard areas that are <br />visible from the right of way. Councilman Nashar moved for adoption. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2005-133 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-141 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2005. <br />Councilman Tallon moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and <br />committee review, and the motion was seconded by Councilman Orlowski. Roll call: <br />Tallon, yes; Orlowski, yes; Ryan, no; Nashar, yes; Miller, yes; Gareau, yes; Barker, yes. <br />The motion passed with six yes votes and one no vote. Councilman Tallon moved for <br />adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Orlowski and passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-141 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-142 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman Ryan <br />on behalf of the entire Council. An ordinance to revise the Codified Ordinances by <br />adopting current replacement pages; and declaring an emergency.
