Council Minutes of 8/16/2005 <br />Roll call continued: Gazeau, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2005-102 <br />adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2005-103 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for the purchase of real property located <br />at 29590 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, to be used as the site for the new fire station <br />approved by the voters of North Olmsted. Councilman Nashaz moved for suspension of the rule <br />requiring three readings. The motion was seconded by Councilman McKay and passed <br />unanimously. Councilman Nashaz moved for adoption, and the motion was seconded by <br />Councilman McKay. Roll call Nashar, yes; McKay, yes; Barker, yes; Ryan, yes, with comment <br />that he did not have the opportunity to participate in the planning and presenting this to the <br />voters of North Olmsted. The voters of North Olmsted have spoken on this issue. He feels <br />compelled to follow the direction of the voters at this time, and that is why his vote is yes. Roll <br />call continued: Miller, yes, with comment, that he would request the letters from the Chief and <br />Assistant Chief with respect to Ordinance 2005-103 be added to the minutes of this meeting. <br />Roll call continued: Gareau, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2005-103 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-104 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Director of Law to retain outside counsel to assist the City of North <br />Olmsted in matters relating to the proposed transfer of the cable franchise of Adelphia <br />Cleveland, LLC to Time Warner NY Cable LLC, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-105 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2005-55 in order to provide for the property maintenance <br />inspector position created by said Ordinance to be a part-time, rather than seasonal, position in <br />the organizational chart of the Building Department, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-106 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance amending Section One of Ordinance No. 2004-104, which previously amended <br />Ordinance No. 2004-18, in order to remove the maximum dollar cap in the contract that <br />authorized the retention of the law firm of Johnson, Angelo & Colaluca, LLC, as outside labor <br />counsel to assist the city in labor related matters, and further ratifying and approving all <br />payments made to date to said law firm. <br />Resolution No. 2005-107 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. A <br />resolution adopting the alternative tax budget of the City of North Olmsted for the fiscal year <br />beginning January 1, 2006, and submitting the same to the County Auditor, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />Resolution No. 2005-108 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Director of Personnel and Administrative Services to advertise for bids <br />for Comprehensive Municipal Liability, Police Professional Liability, Property & Scheduled <br />Equipment, Broad Form Crime, Automotive Liability & Physical Damage, Public Officials <br />Errors & Omissions, Bailer & Machinery, Inland Marine, EDP, Umbrella, and Liquor Liability <br />insurance, as a package, and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for said insurance <br />18 <br />
