Council Minutes of 8/2/2005 <br />Ordinance No. 2005-27 introduced by Council Members Miller, McKay, Nashar and <br />Kasler was given its second reading. An ordinance providing for the submission to the <br />electors of the City of North Olmsted of an amendment to Sections 1, 2 and 3 of Article <br />IV, and Sections 2 and 4 of Article IX, of the Charter of the Gity of North Olmsted to <br />provide for the President of Council to be a member of Council appointed by a majority <br />of the members of Council, rather than a separately elected office. <br />Resolution No. 2005-101 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the <br />reconstruction of Clague Road from Interstate 480 to Lorain Road in the City of North <br />Olmsted as detailed in the plans and specifications on file, further authorizing the Mayor <br />to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder for said repairs, and declaring an <br />emergency. Councilman Nashar moved for suspension of the rules requiring three <br />readings and formal committee review, and the motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Barker. Roll call: Nashar, yes; Barker, yes; McKay, yes; Miller, yes; Gareau, yes; <br />Tallon, yes; Ryan, no. The motion passed with six yes votes and one no vote. <br />Councilman Nashar moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Barker and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2005-101 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2005-102 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to advertise for bids for the <br />replacement of the HVAC system for the indoor tennis facility at the Recreation <br />Complex, and authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval by the Board of Control, if <br />necessary, to enter into a contract for same with the lowest and best bidder. <br />Resolution No. 2005-103 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for the purchase of real <br />property located at 29590 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, to be used as the site for <br />the new fire station approved by the voters of North Olmsted. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-104 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance authorizing the Director of Law to retain outside counsel to assist the City <br />of North Olmsted in matters relating to the proposed transfer of the cable franchise of <br />Adelphia Cleveland, LLC to Time Warner NY Cable LLC, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-105 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2005-55 in order to provide for the property <br />maintenance inspector position created by said Ordinance to be a part-time, rather than <br />seasonal, position in the organizational chart of the Building Department, and declaring <br />an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2005-106 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance amending Section One of Ordinance No. 2004-104, which previously <br />amended Ordinance No. 2004-18, in order to remove the maximum dollar cap in the <br />contract that authorized the retention of the law firm of Johnson, Angelo & Colaluca, <br /> <br />11 <br />
