The rent for the <br />space is $1,500 per month and will be split between the city and the Recreation <br />Department. The committee unanimously recommended approval and passage under <br />suspension of the rule. <br />• Resolution 2005-43, a request for bids for the renovation to the doors at the Senior <br />Center. The doors aze heavy and difficult to maneuver. The request for bids calls for <br />ADA complaint doors to be installed. All in attendance were in agreement this is a <br />much needed improvement for the Senior Center. It was asked if CDBG money was <br />available for this project, and the committee was advised that it is not. The <br />committee unanimously recommended approval and passage under suspension of the <br />role. <br />Regarding the method of splitting the monies from the telecommunications towers, <br />Finance Director Copfer said she looked into how this is done. If there is an up-front <br />amount given, 75% goes to the Recreation Fund and 25% goes to the Economic <br />Development Fund. All the monthly rent goes to the Recreation Fund. <br />Safety Director Jesse said, in regazd to Northcoast PCS, the rent is $1,500 per month that <br />is shared 50% with AT&T, so the city's share is $750 a month. <br />AUDIENCE PA~T~CIP.~iTION <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane, congratulated Mr. Kennedy on his appointment as <br />President of Council. He noted that Mr. Jesse was leaving the city soon and <br />complimented him on the job he has done. Best wishes to Mr. Jesse as he moves on. He <br />thanked Mr. Driscoll for the clean-up work done on Great Northern Blvd. bridge. <br />Shirley Fenton, 25827 Byron Drive, expressed concern about the possibility of her <br />neighborhood streets being replaced in asphalt. She was not present at the homeowners <br />meeting on Sunday evening, but she wanted to offer points of consideration regarding the <br />asphalt in her neighborhood: Sandy Ridge and North Park Estates both are getting <br />concrete streets and why has Canterbury Woods been singled out as the only <br />development in the city to undergo an asphalt repair job? If there are extra funds left <br />over from the Sandy Ridge and North Park project, can those funds be filtered in to back <br />up the amount of expense of using concrete as opposed to asphalt. What can the <br />neighborhood expect with regard to regular communication? Historically Canterbury <br />Woods has enjoyed pride in their neighborhood. It has been a preferred place to live with <br />the amenities of pool, park and homeowners association activities. They feel that asphalt <br />would devalue their properties and the area would not be a preferred place to live. Do <br />they have residents have any legal avenues by way of petition, etc. to prevent the work <br />being done over their objections? <br /> <br />9 <br />
