Council Minutes of 12/19/2006 <br />that outlines the advantages of the proposals. The objective of change should be reduced <br />response time. Mayor O'Grady said every city had reduced response time. He would <br />expect that North Olmsted should similarly see reduced response time. <br />Dennis Lambert, 25057 Carey Lane, spoke about the vote on amending the minutes at the <br />Mayor's request. <br />Charles Dial, 27959 Gardenia, spoke about Bellvue, WA which has an emergency shelter <br />plan which was used during a recent emergency. He wants North Olmsted to have such a <br />plan. Mayor O'Grady said he had attended a national conference on disaster <br />preparedness. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 2006-191 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to purchase six (6) new Crown <br />Victoria Interceptor Cruisers, and related Police equipment, for the North Olmsted Police <br />Department through the State purchase program; further authorizing the Mayor to <br />execute all necessary documents in connection with said purchase; and declaring an <br />emergency. Councilman Orlowski moved for adoption, and the motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Gareau. Roll call: Orlowski, yes, with comment that he would like the <br />Safety Director to provide information regarding the sale amount or disposition amount <br />received on the city vehicles disposed of and to what fund these monies are deposited. <br />Roll call continued: Gareau, yes; Barker, yes; Jones, yes; Miller, yes; Ryan, yes; Tailor. <br />yes. The motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2006-191 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2006-192 introduced by Councilman Tallon on behalf of himself and <br />Council Members Miller, Orlowski, Barker, Dailey Jones and Gareau was given its third <br />reading. An ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for Council-at-Large <br />members for the term of office commencing January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2011 <br />and declaring an emergency as amended. Councilman Tallon moved for adoption, and <br />the motion was seconded by Councilman Miller. Roll call: Tallon, yes; Miller, yes; <br />Barker, yes; Gareau, yes; Jones, yes; Orlowski, yes; Ryan, no. The motion passed with <br />six yes votes and one no vote. Ordinance No. 2006-192 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2006-195 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance amending Ordinance No. 98-140, as previously amended by Ordinance Nos. <br />2000-29 and 2002-183, so as to increase the program fee for participants in the city's <br />Community Diversion Program, in order to address increases in program expenditures. <br />Councilman Orlowski moved for adoption, and the motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Barker. Roll call: Orlowski, yes; Barker, yes; Gareau, yes; Jones, yes; Miller, yes; Ryan, <br />no; Tallon, yes. The motion passed with six yes votes and one no vote.
