Council Minutes of 12/19/2006 <br />Council Member Dailey Jones moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Councilman <br />Barker moved for adoption, and the motion was seconded by Council Member Dailey <br />Jones. Roll call: Barker, yes; Dailey Jones, yes; Gareau, yes; Miller, yes; Orlowski, yes; <br />Ryan, no; Tallon, yes. The motion passed with six yes votes and one no vote. Ordinance <br />No. 2006-197 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2006-199 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution accepting a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety for the Police <br />Department's participation in the Third Grade Safety Belt Program, authorizing the <br />Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Public Safety setting forth <br />the terms and conditions of the grant and participation in the said program, and declaring <br />an emergency. Councilman Tallon moved for suspension of the rules requiring three <br />readings and committee review. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ryan and <br />passed unanimously. Councilman Tallon moved for adoption, and the motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Ryan. Roll call: Tallon, yes, Ryan, yes; Barker, yes with <br />comment that seeing a resolution promoting seat belts brings back memories of when his <br />daughter was in third grade, which was around the time the State was passing the seat <br />belt law. Every time they got in the car, their daughter would hound the heck out of them <br />to buckle up. Well, he has to thank her as they are still here buckled up every day. Now <br />his daughter is pregnant with their first grandchild. He can't wait for his grandchild to be <br />in third grade and hound the heck out of her parents. His vote is yes! Roll call <br />continued: Gareau, yes; Jones, yes; Miller, yes; Orlowski yes. The motion passed <br />unanimously. Resolution No. 2006-199 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2006-200 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance amending Section 1321.05 of Chapter 1321 (Permit and Inspection Fees) <br />for the purposes of establishing a separate fee schedule for various city boards and <br />commissions and for increasing some of the fees of the said boards and commissions. <br />Resolution No. 2006-201 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution authorizing the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to enter into atwo-year <br />contract with Union Eye Care Center, Inc., to provide eye care and vision services to city <br />employees in connection with the city's self-insured health care plan, and declaring an <br />emergency. Resolution No. 2006-201 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2006-202 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance authorizing the Director of Planning to request proposals for professional <br />economic development consulting services to augment and assist the city's Department <br />of Planning; and further authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval of the Board of <br />Control, to enter into an agreement with the person or firm selected in the RFP process. <br /> <br />9 <br />~., <br />_. <br />
