Council Minutes of 8/1/2006
2) The audited Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 2005 was submitted to the
~+ Auditor of State and Government Finance Officers Association by June 30, 2006. As we
have independent public accountants, it is required the Auditor of State review it before
its release.
3) She has compiled information for the Rocky River Municipal Court for 2003 - 2005
for Council that will more clearly demonstrate the impact on the City of Rocky River's
general fund. She has also collected the capital costs that are being collected as court
costs and is currently looking at other municipal courts to determine what the norm is in
our area.
4) Auditor of State Betty Montgomery came to City Hall to personally present the
Auditor's Award for the 2004 Audit. Fewer than 5% of the over 5,000 agencies they
audit are eligible for this award. Though it was presented to her as the Director of
Finance, it is really a testament to the entire city's job performance-the Finance
Department staff, especially Assistant Director Leslie Bruxvoort; the Mayor and his
administration; and City Council for supporting and adhering to the procedures that
Finance has put in place to safeguard assets, which translates to safeguarding taxpayer
dollars. Thank you for the continued support in this ongoing effort.
Councilman Barker, chairperson of the Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee:
1) Manor Care sponsored a USO Motorcycle Run on July 29.
