Council Minutes of 6/6/2006
overlooked. The city is doing all it can do at this point in time given all of the many
priorities.
Mr. Vella reiterated that he felt the two buildings going up across the street are part of the
issue of the drainage problem. They dug a hole that made the sink hole which no one can
figure out where the water is going. With regards to the ditches, there needs to be a pitch.
This needs to be fixed immediately. The swale that was put in is going uphill, and the
water is not going to drain. The water needs to come out of the drain because of the pipes
coming out of the backyard. If the ditches are not correct and cleaned out, the mud and
water will stay back in the residents' lines. This means the residents will eventually have
to pay because the city didn't come out and clean the ditches. He is not going to be
responsible for his pipe because the city didn't maintain its ditches.
LEGISLATION
Resolution No. 2006-87 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading.
