Council Minutes of 6/6/2006 Ordinance No. 2006-11 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An ordinance authorizing the Mayor to request proposals from qualified persons and/or firms to provide professional labor negotiator services for the years 2006-2007; and further authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval of the Board of Control, to enter into an agreement with the labor negotiator and/or firm selected in the RFP process and declaring an emergency. Ordinance No. 2006-113 introduced by Councilman Gareau was given its second reading. An ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 97-34, which established the HoteUMotel Tax Fund, in order to expand the purposes for which monies in the said fund maybe expended. Ordinance No. 2006-117 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An ordinance authorizing the Director of Public Service to request proposals for audiovisual consulting/engineering services in order to design an audiovisual update and upgrade to the City Council Chambers and the City Council caucus room; and further authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval of the Board of Control, to enter into an agreement with the person or firm selected in the RFP process. Ordinance No. 2006-119 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. An ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2006 Resolution No. 2006-120 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. A resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into atwo-year agreement with Verizon Wireless providing for cell phone service for up to thirty-eight (38) City of North Olmsted employees, and declaring an emergency. Resolution No. 2006-121 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the purchase and installation of complete replacement worm and spur gear drive assemblies for the final collector drive at the North Olmsted Waste Water Treatment Plant, as detailed in the plans and specifications on file, further authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder, after Board of Control approval, and repealing Resolution No. 2006-74. Mayor O'Grady commented that, although the legislation was new, the issue had been extensively discussed by City Council. Councilman Tallon moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review. The motion was seconded by Council Member Dailey Jones and passed unanimously.
