Council Minutes of 4/4/06
3) The Claque Road rehabilitation project is proceeding with the concrete box culvert
work continuing. The work has taken longer than anticipated due to the unexpected
location of a water line. It's expected that the culvert work will continue until
approximately mid-month.
4) The commuting public is becoming increasingly more aware of the construction on
Claque Road as the volume of traffic attempting to use that street has decreased. Of
major significance, the reoccurring co-location of different construction entities has
caused the city to reconsider how to handle traffic once the culvert work is done and one-
way traffic is restored. In order to improve safety for all of our residents in the area and
for the construction teams, he has decided to close Claque Road to through traffic for the
duration of the project-even after culvert work is done. Claque Road will be
southbound local traffic only until this project is completed, which should be close to the
end of the year. This will have some impact and create inconvenience for the motoring
public; however, in the interest of safety and with the realization that closing the road to
through traffic will shorten the duration of the project, it is the correct direction to go.
5) The city, along with the Cuyahoga County Commissioners; the Employment
Connection, the Polaris Career Center, the N.
